I didn't want to hijack Roofdude's thread but it got me wondering how many of us carry daily?
I work at being concealed but it's a little harder for me because I pretty much have to carry at 2 O'Clock. Since Texas changed the law and now printing is ok, I don't sweat it as much but I try to make sure any bumps cannot be differentiated from my cell phone.
I carry outside the waste band and typically wear long tail t-shirts, 3" longer than normal to concealed carrying OWB. That said, more than once I forgot to let the customer or adjuster go up my ladder first, and could tell he saw my Glock 19 under my shirt as I climbed the ladder. Some I could tell it made a little nervous.
Sounds like the firearms manufacturers are going to make billions. Everyone is afraid they will take away the right to own a gun and it seems this is all by design. They talk, talk, talk about it but yet don't doing anything other than sell wayyyy more guns. Instead of disarming the public they are greatly increasing the number of guns.
Personally I don't like guns due to some childhood issues I had. When I was just 10 yrs old I was standing beside a man that was shot and killed. My head was literally less than 1 foot away from where the bullet entered his chest. I stood there and watched him die as he lay on the floor murmuring she shot me, she shot me, until it became just a whisper and then total silence.
But even with all that said, I don't have a problem at all with anyone else having guns. I just don't care much for them personally. If I get shot and killed someday because I didn't have a gun therefore didn't get a chance to shoot first, I guess I will see you all on the other side of the Big Roof in the sky! It's not like I'm going to be able to stay here on earth in my human form for eternity anyways right?
The first shooting happened about 3 miles from my house. I was out last night about dark and I heard a bunch of sirens. It appears to be totally random. He evidently drove away and couple hours later shot a father and son and then later still shot 5 people at a Cracker Barrel Restaurant diagonally across town. 12 miles away. No rhyme or reason.

Thats the kind of messed up crap that will have all of us carrying.
I believe that most people are good. The people I worry about are the people that are in some form of power. They pollute other people's minds with their own fears and prejudices. That scares me more then any other form of violence.
I am getting a permit because of the belief that only the government and criminals should have guns.

Kill whitey eh. Like it or not, there is a war going on and we are the targets, and intended victims. Genocide is the term in English. As long as it is whites that are being targeted, killed or deprived of their ability to defend themselves; that is "politically correct" They can call us "crackers" "Honky's" "white devils", Trailer Trash" or whatever derogatory term they want and we are supposed to smile and take it. If we call them "Niggers" "Spicks" "Kikes" "Dot Heads" Towel Heads" etc. why then we are racists and politically WRONG! The hell with them. The reason we never locked our doors was because we lived in mostly white neighborhoods, and there wasn't any crime. The more mixed and integrated we are becoming, the greater the crime is and the worse it is for all of us.
I guess I really don't care if they all want to kill each other as they did in their own countries, as long as we ship all of them back to where they came from. It would be less for us to support too. Only one in thirteen people in this world are white anymore and I for one can't afford to support the other 12.
I was thinking about this post and printed out the application and started to fill it out.
wywoody Said: I have a questions for you CC guys. Do you carry your gun into a bank? If you were in the bank and saw a robbery would you use it? Would you wait to see if a hostage situation started or the robber started demanding customers wallets?I have a nephew that worked as a loss prevention officer for a department store owned by Kroger. He was fired because he used his company issued firearm to detain a shoplifter much bigger than he is. They are instructed not to use the gun to protect merchandise, only if their or customers lives are in danger. If businesses dont want their employees protecting their possessions, do you feel any obligation to do so?
Yes. Yes. Depends on the situation, & opportunity I had.

I won't know until it happens.
Take this guy. I didn't shoot him though he held the club over his head as he came trotting/running at me screaming he was gonna kill mme and take my money. When I shouted "HALT!", and partially drew, he stopped and I stated I would pop him if even moved either foot forward again. I disarmed him and sent him away. He was about 15 or less away when I stopped him. I took this pic 20 minutes later as he chased some lady into traffic. I stepped into his view and stared at him and he walked off down the alley. Those are 16 or 20 penny spikes sticking out of that club.
:S
I just wasn't in the mood to deal with PD for shooting him. It's a hassle here that can take 2-3 hours out of your day. :(
It's a different world today - That's for certain - I grew up around guns much like Lefty said; Long guns in corners - dad always carried his.357 under the seat of the vehicle, in places, bluing rubbed-off from years of holster-wear.
There was never a concern what-so-ever, We knew what the tool was for & respected it as such. Once I had kids, I got safes & everything is locked-up. WTH? Are we somehow more responsible than our parents were or simply complying with the herd mentality? Course, we never locked or doors either.....
As for the CC - Years ago I went through the required classes but just couldn't get myself to apply for the permit and let big bro have yet another tap on me....

I grew up with guns in the house. It was nothing to see a half a dozen rifles standing in the corner of the room. They were as common as a picture on the wall.
There was always a pistol under the seat of the vehicle. Never gave it a thought till now, but I do not think my dad ever took it out of the truck.
I never owned a gun. There was a time in my life that if I owned a gun, I would have went to jail, and I knew it. So I just depended on attitude. I have never found the need for more then attitude.
That said I am with Woody. The threat of them taking my right to have one away, I am getting one.
So, despite the fact I haven't needed or wanted a handgun and managed to survive all skirmishes that have come my way without one, I took delivery of one yesterday. The ONLY thing that could drive me to buy one was the threat to take the option away. Thanks Dems.
My buying ordeal started last Thursday. Because the state of Oregon has no sales tax and WA has 8.4%, I did what I do on all purchases over $150, I drove to Oregon to buy. Cabalas is a 20 mile drive from here. There I quickly found the gun I wanted, a 9 mm Magnum Research knockoff of a Walther.
Just as I was thinking it was really easy to buy a gun, being halfway through the paperwork, the salesclerk asked for my license. When he saw it was from Washington, he got irked and told me he couldn't sell to me.
I returned to Washington and went to a local store and found a Ruger to buy. It doesn't look like it has the same level of precision as the MR gun, but was about $100 cheaper. I spent about 20 minutes with the salesguy doing paperwork and told to wait for a call, usually the next day. It took 4 days to get the call because of the volume of like-minded individuals now buying.
When I went to pick it up, a salesclerk had to check the paperwork, find another one to doublecheck, then accompany me to the checkout. While there I commented to the guy that they had to have had close to an hour of labor tied up on this transaction and that "I don't know how you could possibly make any money on cheaper guns."
He replied they certainly didn't on mine, since I was buying a sale item, they're markup on it was only $9.
Wywoody- I'm with ya. I "carry" only when I feel the need to.
I switched from carrying a Glock 26 about a year ago, to the Glock 19 on the bottom. It has the green laser which can be seen in broad daylight. Wherever you put the green dot, that's here the bullet goes.
The one on top his a Gen3 Glock 19 with the Trijicon RMR red dot sight. The slide had to be professionally milled to accept the sight, and I had to pout suppressor sights on it. I love the RMR so I just ordered a new Gen4 G19 and I'll have it milled for an RMR and polish the trigger for smoothness.
Although it takes some custom holster work to accommodate the tall RMR sight, I really like the sight, even better than the laser.
The G19 is a little on the big side to carry but I carry it all day every day.

Those are really sharp Tim.
To answer the OP question... yes I do. Not always, but usually.
