Some lessons you don't want to learn but we're wired to learn them anyway, e.g., you stick your hand on a hot stove as a kid, you learn a lesson that will stick with you all your life.

Another of those lessons that I'd rather have not learned, but did>>>

tarface , I believe that providence, the foreknowledge of God ,and predestination have a lot to do with the path we get in life, as to which one or way we will choose.

The qran and jewish scriptures will not give one the correct path to the gloryland, because they fail to recognize Jesus Christ, the Mesiah as God's son. And he is the only way by which our prayers can get to God.

Copper....are you a jehova's witness.>>>

Copperman: [ RE: Stereotyping & Religion ] , Thursday, January 29, 2009 @ 2:50 PM I am a : Roofer so even though evidence has been shown to prove that the trinity was man made after the fourth century and that the bible you use added words that are not in the original oldest texts and took God's name out you feel yours is more accurate. Ok to each his own. But I am fully confident in what I have learned and come to believe. Jesus said by there works you will know my sheep and only those that are foot step followers are the ones he will recognize. He also said in Matthew 24:14 This Good new of the kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come. He didn't say all would listen.

As it should be ,if you are comfortable with it. After all, we are free moral agents with the ability to choose, but we shall see when eternity gets here, which is sound and which is not.>>>

Not to veer away from jesus and the christians but what makes one book realer oe truer than the next. "Those who believe (in the Quran), and those who follow the Jewish (scriptures), and the Christians...and (all) who believe in God and the last day and work righteousness, shall have their reward with their Lord; on them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve." I choose to believe what is in the bible only.>>>

Copper, With all my heart, I respect your right to believe as you see fit, even if it does not match my beliefs, altho we will never be able to come to much of an agreement. The Bible you use is an orange and mine is an apple. Oranges and apples will never compare. So we will have to agree to disagree on a lot of Bible related subjects. The people who translated the version of the scriptures that you use have went to great pains to take away the personage of the Holy Ghost and transform it into a feeling and not a person. It is very evident that they have never had any personal contact with the true Holy Spirit, for them I am saddened, and for all who aspire to follow this type of teaching , I am saddened. I have had contact with him, and I can assure you that he is real, and the inner spiritual blessings that can be felt thru communion with him are beyond my finite minds ability to communicate, but real. All I have to offer, is what the Bible as I read it states. There are far many scriptures that give authenticity to what I believe, as to the personage of the Holy Spirit. These, to me carries about as much weight as any:

Mark 3 29. But he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Ghost hath never forgiveness, but is in danger of eternal damnation:

Luke 12 10. And whosoever shall speak a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but unto him that blasphemeth against the Holy Ghost it shall not be forgiven. 11. And when they bring you unto the synagogues, and unto magistrates, and powers, take ye no thought how or what thing ye shall answer, or what ye shall say: 12. For the Holy Ghost shall teach you in the same hour what ye ought to say.

John 14 16. And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; 17. Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.

25. These things have I spoken unto you, being yet present with you. 26. But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

John 15 26. But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me:

EGG, all my brother tilemen up here want to kill me, so it's hard for me to figure out which one is him.

Thanks CM, even if Bin laden could stay hidden for 8 years, I thought it was a bit of a stretch that Cain could hide away for thousands of years.>>>

No Cain and all his descendants died at the flood of Noah's day. Gen.4:8 After that Cain said to Abel his brother: [“Let us go over into the field.”] So it came about that while they were in the field Cain proceeded to assault Abel his brother and kill him. 9 Later on Jehovah said to Cain: “Where is Abel your brother?” and he said: “I do not know. Am I my brother’s guardian?” 10 At this he said: “What have you done? Listen! Your brother’s blood is crying out to me from the ground. 11 And now you are cursed in banishment from the ground, which has opened its mouth to receive your brother’s blood at your hand. 12 When you cultivate the ground, it will not give you back its power. A wanderer and a fugitive you will become in the earth.” 13 At this Cain said to Jehovah: “My punishment for error is too great to carry. 14 Here you are actually driving me this day from off the surface of the ground, and from your face I shall be concealed; and I must become a wanderer and fugitive on the earth, and it is certain that anyone finding me will kill me.” 15 At this Jehovah said to him: “For that reason anyone killing Cain must suffer vengeance seven times.”

And so Jehovah set up a sign for Cain in order that no one finding him should strike him. 16 With that Cain went away from the face of Jehovah and took up residence in the land of Fugitiveness to the east of E′den.

No one was allowed to kill him but he died a normal death.>>>
