Here we go....This ough to cause a ruckus....

Realizing it's a given that the public schools are venues for the progressives to indoctrinate our children, it still never ceases to amaze me!

"Bullying" is the lates rage/focus/buzz-word and the hypocrisy/stupidity displayed by the dominant liberal/progressive falculties, is rampant.

Here is but ONE example recently experienced by our family. A little girl wrote a couple of notes to my 9 yr. old son in class that he was "stupid"....A week or two previous to this, the school had set up some type of internet chat-room for the 3rd graders....So, my son goes home and returns the girls message by writing her "your stupid _______"....The principle of the schooll calls the cops!...."Cyber-bullying", the latest buzz-word....Never mind that little Jose can beat on my kid all he wants, and when my kids knocks the crap out of him, my son get's the reprimand. Or when my son asks little Jose why he doesn't at least cover his heart when the pledge of allegience is said' Jose replies' ..." I don't have to, because I'm Mexican"....

A teacher went so far as to go to my son's martial arts school/instructor in attempts to slander my son, whereas she didsn't get the response she was expecting!....When it comes to bullys/physical attacks, it's pretty-much "beat-down time", until 12th grade....

We can't just rely on the schools, we as parents are responsible also. I feel I did a good job parenting, some trouble spots but good. She ended up with a poor choice Daddy. Grauated from High School still a virgin and pregnant 2 months later. No wonder I dyed my gray hair blonde.

My 2 grandkids are great, we deal with what is sent our way. I will work with my daughter with the kids. Peer pressure is terrible, we are dealing with a different world.

Glad to hear things are great with yours, music to my ears. BUT if something goes arye please keep them close to heart, they will need you.PC

---Why I have sent 5 kids to private Christian school. Several years ago I paid 17k just for tuition not including extras for missions trips and other expenses. ---Best money I ever spent. It is not even an option for me. I currently have 3 that have graduated and those 3 are absolute gems. They have never talked back to me; never disobeyed me (that I know of---you know kids...). They come to me for advice. They even take my advice from time to time. They think for themselves and are a credit to the human race. ---The big thing with kids is peer pressure. Well, placing your kids in an environment where the other kids have a reasonable chance of having similar family values is a big plus. We have some frinds who have a 10th grader in the public school. Almost every kid he knows has tried pot. How long before he also starts smoking weed? I would rather pay even more money than fight that battle. Lanny

If you guys want some great ideas on how to run a school system, start checking the detnews.com site and read about Detroit public schools. For years, they have had declining enrollments but the union wouldn't allow staff layoffs and no one wanted to consolidate the building usage. This went on for dedades.

The end result was that some schools were paying out gross numbers per pupil. I think the highest I read about was $36,000 per student! And they are flunking out their students at better than 60%.

No one could do anything about it because the system is so rigged against opposing parties that might get voted in and try to fix things. Ultimately, "emergency managers" had to take over and now they are closing more than 50 schools. The teachers are now going to have classes with 60 kids in them!

All of this could have been avoided if the adults cared about the basic business of keeping the doors open. Its obvious that they didn't care about anything other than their own paychecks and pensions.

The system is corrupt and broken. The only thing that will fix it will be someone other than a Democrat in charge. Snyder, in MI, took over and now there are emergency powers to fix all the bankrupt cities/school systems.

Let the gnashing begin....30 years too late.

There is a trickle down effect going on in our education system.

Back in the day...if a child acted up in class and was told to go to the office, they eventually would. Now kids have all the power and have to be forcibly removed from the class....now here comes the parents protecting their bad children rights.....now the district agrees with the parents in order to make everybody happy....And here is where your dilemma comes into play Tom, operate to make everyone happy.....Now the teachers have no control/power and their motivation to teach begins to die....they begin to care less, teach less.

My older son attended and eclectic school where we ask for an intervention with all of his teachers. (My son felt he did not have to turn in his homework because every exam he recieved "A's" and "B's" (that is another long story.

In the meeting...the history teacher had to go pick up his mom, the math teacher was grading papers and his only comment was to send him to military school, the counselor present was opening up her letters, the home economics teacher just sat there and never said a word. Only the english teacher got involved.

Of course ...we pulled him out two days later to sen him to another school.

Robby; I agree w/you....

What we have here, is a resort community that is so reliant on the illegal workforce it exploits, it has come to be overly protective, absurdly accomodating, as well as tolerant of their anti-American attitudes, to the point the illegals can do no wrong.

They use the term "diversity"....It's diverse all right....Completely diverse....Our church has services in Spanish, and another in English.....There are two completely different religious communities under an alleged, one church.

The mexican-speaking, (Spanish slang), kids in the schools separate themselves from the others whenever possibly...The faculties allow this, which propagates the separation/diversity amongst the students.

It goes without saying; The schools of course, are run by liberals,(far left liberals). It's hilarious how they, (the lib faculty), typically tell the parents or anyone that may dissagree with them, that the parents need to be more "open-minded"....I for one, am sick & tired of hearing the pot-calling-the-kettle-black thing....These teachers/administators are in their own, little world of self-perceived reality, completly ignorant of the world outside their little educational bubble....

I think we've found an alternative to the public schools here.

Getting back to the school issue..... As i stated earlier, I believe that a school disrtict (or school) is only as good as its philosophy. Some of you may disagree. The private shools have a philosophy that makes them great to attend...so my point is proven.

My son and daughter went to an elementary school where the pricipal was of old shool variety who still believed in corporal punishment (spanking for all you liberals). He did not rule the school with a "love and logic" therum. Children who were typically not afraid of adults WHERE afraid of him. He did not take any crap, you were bad...he would drive you home to talk to your parents. Trouble on the bus stop.....he would stand there for a week and would come down hard on the bullies. Kids miss too much school...He is knocking at your door to bring you to school.

Point is...he went the extra mile to create a safe learning environment, to promote education, and was a great principal.

Alot of parents (Ignorant...Financially challenged....and liberals bump heads meny times)

I am a liberal....but I have many conservative values that I employ as well.

Ahhhh...there is a critic in every jungle. you missed the point my friend.

See how difficult it would be to pay off the debt...that was the point....for me to calculate EVERY working stiff (minus children, illegals, and etc) the cost for each person would be substantially more. For me to calculate even that....It would still be irrelevant.

:)

Just make sure your kids are going to school, talk to them and pay attention. You will be surprised what they say, you may not like what you hear but OUT OF THE MOUTHS OF BABES and they are our babies. PC

Robby the Roofer Said: Fun facts for everyone......

1. We owe 13 trillion dollars in debt 2. There are 310 million people in the U.S. 3. When you account for 9% unemployment, that becomes 282.1 million working stiffs 4. Can we pay off this debt? Yes we can! Did Clinton say three years....well in three years the debt will be paid off if every working stiff paid 1254 an MONTH! That is on top of the taxes we pay as workiers and employers pay as businesses. I cant afford that every month. 5. We could pay off the debt over a 20 year period...that would cost every working stiff $192 a month. A little better, but that means we can not borrow any more money for 20 years...fat chance that will happen

Borrowing money is a part of our society.....we are lucky we are not in China or Russia...How would your life look then...

Robby: The 310 million population count includes every man, woman and child in the U.S.(maybe even illegal aliens). Obviously, a good portion of that number does not pay taxes. Your formula needs some serious revision.

The debt was paid down while Bill Clinton was president. But it wasn't because of him. There was a quote of him in about 97 saying, "we could pay down the debt in 2 years, we could pay down the debt in 3 years...but we aren't going to do it, it would cause too much pain." The debt coming down was a result of two things, limiting spending by the Republican congress, and increased capital gains from the stock market (NASDAQ) bubble. When the bubble burst in March of 2000, that revenue disappeared, and the economy shrunk dramatically. I'm amazed that people credit Clinton with leaving us with a healthy economy.
