Conflicts between science and religion

kage Obviously you are a fundamentalist . Solo Scriptura . I ask you this question not to be confrontational . I ask it sincerely . Is there understanding with in the written works of the Bible . Which if I understand you correctly you are quoting . If so , why are there so many splits and infighting within the confines of the people who claim to have the only understanding ?? How do you come about your self assured conviction you are right about understanding . It happens within the scientist community where there is blind understanding . Even in the face of legitimate questions .

This is how I feel about the issue: Creation. The planet’s coming into existence is recounted in the Bible with the simple statement: “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.” (Ge 1:1) Just how long ago the starry heavens and the earth were created is not stated in the Bible. Therefore, there is no basis for Bible scholars to take issue with scientific calculations of the age of the planet. Scientists estimate the age of some rocks as being three and a half billion years, and the earth itself as being about four to four and a half billion or more years. As to time, the Scriptures are more definite about the six creative days of the Genesis account. These days have to do, not with the creation of earth’s matter or material, but with the arranging and preparing of it for man’s habitation. The Bible does not reveal whether God created life on any of the other planets in the universe. However, astronomers today have not found proof that life exists on any of these planets and, in fact, know of no planet besides the earth that is at present capable of supporting the life of fleshly creatures.

Well, there might be 10 feet of dust that would gum up the lunar landing craft as well as the astronauts trying to walk in it. However, the depth of dust was a few centimeters which was entirely what is to be expected if the moon is much younger than previously thought. ---Evolution is quite like believing in man made global warming. It is declared a fact in news story after news story. Noted scientists are quoted left & right...All kinds of doom day projections are tossed out as fact. All the while the whole thing is built on enormous assumptions. And many scientists reject it just as many scientists reject evolution. However, few are ever quoted on the news and they will be persecuted in the academic community if they speak out. Thus, the impression is that "science" has proven man made global warming. ---There is an agenda behind both theories and it is not to find truth. ---Another brainwash I recently watched was the video, "The Story of Stuff." What a brainwash! What an attack on free enterprise. But again there is an agenda behind that film and it is not truth. There were many factual errors but our school system is hardly interested in truth. Rather they have an agenda for our children to prepare them for the coming world socialism and demise of our country. Our country must be viewed as evil so it and all of its constitution, bill of rights, laws, prosperity can be discarded. Was not directed at anyone in particular -- Just seems like some people take the Bible so literally -- I am not saying it is wrong - just differences and how people put it together. like your 6000 year deal -- say science does proves it has been longer - some people would rather believe the word vs tring to figure out how both are possible.

again the whole seven days of creation for all we know our orbit could have been slower if proved otherwise connect the dots.

If you go out and ask maybe 20 people, about this subject of what to do to get thru this veil of sorrow and come out on the right side when it's all over, you wood prob get as many different answers.

Proverbs 14 12. There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death. Most all the modern day religions of the times we live in, fail to tell of the 2 fold being that we are, and that is it the soul that will get out and not the body.

The good thing about it is, is that you can know how you stand with God before you leave here. I John 4 13. Hereby know we that we dwell in him, and he in us, because he hath given us of his Spirit.

Funny thing is i could be wrong -- As long as i can hit my bed at night knowing i did the right thing i can sleep --- Knowing i could die at any moment did i do the right thing? Those things that truley bother me i try to absolve and make right so i can sleep at night -- If i do then i will die a happy man and believe that will be carried on.

The scientist community say the world is millions of years old...the Bible record of generations give it about 6000 yrs...i belive the Bible, but i woodnt fall out over the millions of years..THEORY.

Using logic i would asume god meant people like Jimmy Swygart or whatever his name is -- He has done good called out many demons etc -- but has done it more for himself than god -- Used god and good to seek earthly power power of man -- I also believe that is not for these people that our beliefs are between us and god however or whatever we see him and in the end that will be which we are rewardad -- our inner self who we truley are. Jimmy gets his now and is going to have to live with his misdealings for eternity -- while the good people their selfishness is not brought out in a corrupt way but inside to themselves.

God i will go out and do good and be good to people how and what i believe is the right way -- I do not expect anything in return i believe it is right thats why i do it. My reward is being able to sleep at night or as the same when i pass.

Other than the hippocrit doing all the above but then wanting a reward a reward of personal, property, money , wealth man etc... all in the name of god / good -- Well these people can have their reward and not beable to sleep at night they will carry these feelings on when they pass -- I believe i will not if i am doing the right thing and i believe everyone knows this it is their conscience this is how and what jesus is -- part of as well as god /good. It is the most powerfull our conscience and the drive to do what is right.

As long as there have been record keeping, there have been men wondering these things.

Acording to the Book you are onto something about the good and not so good on judjement day. Matt 7 21. Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. 22. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23. And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
