In the past 2 years i have seen my father inlaw and my uncle on their deathbeds and they passed -- Neither of them believed in god - They believed they just died and that was it.

They were good people - But both of them had thoughts of their life playing over and over the past what they had done and was it worth it - and second thoughts about how they lived their life -- They had no belief -- I could see them and feel them struggling with belief for months while they were on their death beds.

I was at my uncles side when it was close and i asked him if he believed in god -- He nodded his head no - I says do you here voices in your head and he looked at me kinda confused and nodded yes like it was a dream -- I then told him he needs to listen to them voices they are here to lead you off -- He started to cry -- i then told him how much i appreciated him and what he has done for me my family and everyone that knew him and re assured him he has done good -- I was the last person to talk to him he passed hours later -- He had been in the hospice care for weeks hanging on -- I felt bad for telling him it was his time -- but it seemed to me he was given a chance on his death bed to come to terms with his life before moving on - Nobody knows what happens - One thing i do see is that both of these two were good people who not one day in 60 -70 years did they believe in god or go to church other then on occaison -- But they did not pass until they came to terms with their existance.

I can understand why the frustration of Jed and others when breaching this subject or one like it . A conversation debate barley can move when one liners no explanation other than quoting scripture argumentative combative loaded with conflict . If we can back off and open our ears ( flesh ) and converse . Please . The url I opened up shows science and religion in unison as one . Without sciense you would not be putting roofs on or much of anything else .

CIAK: [ RE: Conflicts between science and religion ] , Thursday, October 29, 2009 @ 5:48 PM I am a : Roofer This Holy Spirit you talk of was it here before Jesus ? I think of it as a conscious , directing guiding us toward the person we are meant to be , If we have not closed our minds to it . If it was left here for a guide what was the guide before ? I'm not buying the idea it wasn't part of the human experience before Jesus .

The Holy Spirit has been around as long as God and Jesus, at least according to the Scriptures. His job became very prominent after Christ left, even tho he has been here all along. Before the days of John the Baptist, God spoke to the prophets himself, Jesus did also in an incarnate state and sence. And maybe not as much a guide as a reprover and teacher, which does maybe speak to the conscience. I see the Holy Spirit as the ultimate messenger boy of God.

---Jn 7:17 "If any man will to do His will he shall know of the doctrine whether it be of God or whether I speak of myself." From this statement I infer that the understanding of truth is bound up in the human heart not in the human head. That is, a person's willingness to follow is far more vital than a person's intellectual ability when it comes to finding the truth. ---Why did so many religious leaders reject Jesus as the Messiah? IMHO they had an agenda. It had nothing to do with facts, evidence, words, miracles, etc. Christ was a threat to the status quo and they had a lot to lose. So it is today. Lanny

Ciak,

The way i see it is somewhat similar to your maybee? --

God Equals -- all that is right and good even if it is from evil or bad god it is the good in all

Holy spirt -- is our conscious or our inside thoughts who we really are

Jesus -- Is the combination -- It is the part of us that resolves the emotion behind doing wrong and eases our conscious relieves the pain -- However this is in every one if you are deceptive like conning yourself your pain will still subside and ease but deep down you still know -- When you pass this is no longer hidden and will torment you.

Father - Son - Holy ghost are all really one -- Combined in us -- You can think about animals they do not have the last 2 -- but god is in everything --

For some people they know for a fact they are doing wrong and are doing it spitefully thus not allowing Jesus to ease the pain -- But it starts with not allowing god or good into your heart. Once you accept Jesus and breakdown admitting you did wrong and do what you need to do like apolijize or whatever (everyone knows what is right deep down) This is coming to jesus once this is done rightfully you are saved from the guilt.

Ciak, the only way i can say it,is when i came to believe He just opened my mind to it and its something you just know that you know,God says it which i believe and The Holy Spirit,Jesus, and The Father are one..a trinity, sorta like the sun is a trinity, the sun is The Father, the light from the sun is Jesus and the warmth is The Holy Spirit so there was no who was here first...

.........." How do you come about your self assured conviction you are right about understanding " I want to emphasize I'm not being confrontational just curious . If you can put it in your words without using the scripture to say it for you might be easier to understand . Just plain ole roofer speak if you know what I mean .

When Jesus left, he said he wood not leave us without spiritual help and guidance. He told of a Comforter, which is the Holy Spirit, that wood be sent of the Father, that wood teach and bring things to OUR remembrance. The OUR, being people who have been born again, or saved, as we sometimes say it.

I don't know about kage......but i kan relate to this.

Jed.....lol, and I mean it in a nice way if there is one. One day you will understand some of the religous community, I just hope you dont wait to long.

Hay chuck , I'm not attempting to answer for kage, but I want to give you my take about what , I think you are asking.

Most of your modern day religions, claim to be religions of faith, well faith is fine, if you have something inside of you to back it up, or that agrees with the faith. If one doesn’t have the Holy Spirit inside them, then their faith is just something they have concocted up to make them feel good about their particular system of beliefs. If they have no Sprit inside , then they have no actual contact with God, only that which they have been taught, (by religious men or women)to believe as the correct way to be a Christian., ie, the man made way, leaving the Holy Spirit out of the matter altogether. This being said and done, and man being the sinful creature that he is, occasionally gives over to his own lusts, and has no real help of guidance from the Holy Spirit via God the Father. What are some of mans vices, power?, greed?, yes , just to mention a few. Some want to be followed, some want to be rich , well beyond what is necessary. These men or women, IMO, are the reason you see unfriendly splits in beliefs.

Am I getting warm yet?

Did you avoid answering the second part of my question ? I'll repeat it here .........." How do you come about your self assured conviction you are right about understanding " I want to emphasize I'm not being confrontational just curious . If you can put it in your words without using the scripture to say it for you might be easier to understand . Just plain ole roofer speak if you know what I mean .
