TARBABY

Sig Sauer 9mm and Smith & Wesson .38 revolver. I carry the Sig, the .38 I got from my granddad, its his old gun. The Sig model is P229.

The reason I carry, is because I live in Birmingham, Alabama...and believe it or not has one of the highest violent crime rates in the country. I do a lot of city rebate work over in the ghettos, and a good bit of insurance replacements also..in the ghettos. Call me paranoid.

We'll be getting to Vegas late Thursday the 17th and will be at the show 11-3 Friday.

Roofguy Said: The Breakin gone wrong thread got me wondering how many roofers carry. I carry a Glock G26, and recently bought a new holster for my Sig Sauer P239 Tactical, but alas, it was just a little too long to be comfy. The Sig definately shoots better though - kinda like comparing a Chevy to a Porsche when comparing to the Glock.

Since the weather is bad today Im probably heading to the gun shop later to get one of those new Springfield EMPs...always wanted a 1911 style handgun.

You?

Last I checked this is 2011 so its hardly new as it was introduced back in 06, although I guess if you aint too familiar with firearms then its an easy mistake to make. The M stands for micro- (its the smallest 1911 ever made) im guessing you didnt know that as most roofers got hands like shovels. course there are always exceptions

FL, I'm not new to guns. Have a whole gun safe full of them. When I wrote "one of those new Springfield EMPs," I was referring to the fact that they are new not used, and that it will be new to me as I don't have one yet. I have a Springfield XD/9 and it's a good gun, just not very exciting...so I never really took another look at a Springfield product until recently.

I've waited to get an EMP because I wanted to see the new Sig P230(new, as in the way you thought I meant above). However, after hearing reports from people I know who went to SHOT Show in Vegas last week, I decided to go ahead and "pull the trigger" on an EMP instead. Alas, the dealer I buy from doesn't have one with the cocobolo grips I want so I'll have to order it.

Not personally, my husband use to carry. A little and I mean little 22. I still have it. Sold the rest. I can walk in the room and you would not see it. Element of surprise. :woohoo: PC
