Thinking of Copperman recuperating, and something the wife said.

After open heart surgery, my heart still didn't work right, ( I'm in A-fib now), I had to stay there for weeks. As I got better, I walked the halls and floors, and PX day and night, as I felt. Well, open heart also means a cut sternum. Might as well break it. I was hustling along and sneezed. That took me to the floor! I was leaning against the wall. on my knees and a nurse stepped around the corner. All within 2 seconds. She started to hit the Code Blue, took another look, and asked if I had sneezed or coughed? I couldn't nod, but waved my hand up and down. She giggled and left me there. :woohoo:

The only ones here that will be able to relate are the ones who have also had that surgery. :P>>>

Mike, at the time, I thought I was going to die. It sure hurt and I didn't want to breath deeply. I couldn't but would start to cough right away. Ouch!>>>

Wow thats pretty scary tinner, does that still happen now? That's what happens after your chest, sternum. is cracked open. It's a major bone breakage. It's healed now, but if you vist a heart surgery ward, you'll see everybody clutching pillows to their chest in anticipationof the next giggle, sneeze, cough, hiccup, or anything else that makes the bone ends grate together.>>>
