whats wrong with this picture

this is a flashing behind a chimney with a valley dumping into the back of it.

Just needs more black Mammy, that's the problem!

Gave the guy a price of $1500.00 to remove and replace all flashing's(about 5 ft. wide chimney) and valley about 12 ft. and I never heard from him. Go figure. I almost gave it to him and I still did not get it. How low do we got to go. I should of just mucked it up and charged him $350.00. Way to nice of a house for that besides I don't roll that way.

Although it's sloppy looking, there appears to be metal underneath at the backwards lap. Whether there was a problem or not might require seeing if that underneath metal drained properly. Of course, by the time you've opened up enough to see that, you're halfway to opening up enough to replace it all.

Im looking down at it. On the right top of picture is the corner of chimney. Notice the holes from acid rain. Also the copper was short on the lower section of copper and lapped backwards. I am going to re-flash this if the gut accepts contract(I think it's a go)I'll take pictures as I go and of finish product. It should look a little different. ;)

Looks typical for around here. I've seen wood showing after a new install.
