Weve had many storms and many stormers come thru here, most are a joke and the public has realized it.Im of the opinion hire me if you want a warranty and to have your roof installed correctly.Chucky likes stormers,he thinks thier impressive.Snake oil salesmen have been around a long time and thats all they are.

We hired 8 of them in 2010. They cried everyone else pays 5-50-50 or 10-50-50 splits. we wouldn,t budge, they came around, 7 of them were with us 6 months and then leads and referrals started thinning and they started looking for the next storm. we had 2 they stay 10 months. If they sold full boat they got paid 12% and then a sliding scale down to 5%. Most of then stayed happy and got commission checks months later as we mailed to their real home. We took taxes paid comp. We had some companies that tried to hook us and use our license, but the law caught them pretty quick. Stay away from those splits.

Is it possible to create a sales force that is temporary? A strategy for getting into the communities and making first contact would be another concern. Usually after and event the police set up check points fairly quickly. Purchasing tarps and some other relief for the effected communities is a start up model. Being proactive and not sitting waiting for the phone to ring .

Let's start with Beef up both your sales staff and your production staff. and properly train them. Many of the the salespeople are educated and they know roofing and how to work around the adjusters. and they dont necessarily come with a company. You can hire them outright. Stick to your pay policy. The roofers are a different pack. You have to keep and eye on them because they go way to fast. watch for blow thrus. Just slow them down. Put everyone on your payroll and keep to your policy. Slow them down.
