When installing peel-and-stick membrane with split-release paper on a sloped roof, do you pull off the top or bottom release paper first? What did you think I meant? I like it both ways, conditions vary in doing repairs.
Bottoms up!!
Top or bottom?
I like variety, but generally speaking, I prefer bottom. Visually it's easier to keep things lined up.
What are we talking about, again?
We used to nail a base sheet down first and then torch on the cap sheet. Now they have the torch on base or the S.A. base and that works just fine. I still don't use the SA for a "flat" roof. You are really good at it.
There are slope limitations to the SA membranes. At least 1/2" per foot, at least I was told that. If it is hot out when you apply it, it sticks like a bear. You have to roll the seams too. I like it a lot for big open areas, as it is clean and there is no danger of fire. I know you do a lot of the torch ons Vaa, and i admire your work, but you would have to admit that to rely on a hired hand to do that work and sleep well at night would be tough. Insurance is high over here if you use the torch applied, and most don't!
