Oh, I use Vermonts at times too. Most of the slate in this atate came from one of two main quarries in Buckingham County. The Virginia Slate Co. or The Buckingham Slate Co. Both are still in operation with only the The Buckingham Slate Co. actually mining with a good vein.

The Virginia Slate Co. vein ran out years ago, but the heirs are busy impoting Vermonts, Spanish, and other slate. They even have preferred installers, or maybe their own. Not sure.

It's two slate that are 'culls'. Both slate have a ridge diverting water into one spot of the roof. One directly on the pinnacle of the headlap, the other about an inch above. :woohoo:

;) A roofer would never have nailed these onto the roof. He would have set them aside for halves. cut starters, hips, repair work or something useful. ;)

Old School

I didn't know that we had someone named "nobody" on this forum. It kinda looks like there is not enough headlap on the slate below if that is a hole and there is no slate top beneath it. Is everything you do Buckinghams?
