Old School

My wife has told me about them before and I saw the mother and two of them before, but I finally saw all three with the mother this morning as I backed out of the barn. Triplet deer! If I had been on the ball I could have snapped a picture as they stood there for about 10 seconds. Twins are not that uncommon, but this is the first time I have ever seen triplets. Neat!

OOO... that was a good one. When you hit them with your car, they are "rats with hooves"

Deer are great eye candy, HOWEVER, I just noticed that they killed 3 out of 7 of the fruit trees I planted last year! They will pay deerly...

Ugh, puns are terrible.

I saw them again the other night. I saw one deer that had been killed by a car about a week ago and thought it was the triplets mother. Not so, as I saw her and all there of them coming home at night the other day. they are almost as big as her now. Not so cute.

Cool! They reproduce fast enough eh.

There were two 8 pointers trotting through our field a couple of days ago. Few days before that we saw about ten turkeys about 20 yards from our front door. It's going to be a great hunting season.

This year I planted a deer patch about 40 yards from my house in front of my garage. I'll just walk out, plant my ass in the chair, and wait. Last two years I've walked to the back of my woods, about 200 yards, where I made my first deer stand. Always scared em off, and it just seemed like a waste when I see them in my drive every day!

OW It has been ages but every morning we would see a herd meandering one day and running the next. Does stopping and snorting, don't have to tell you. It is refreshing. I'm still rural but only see one or two a year on the run. Still have the picture in your head OS.

OLE Willie

I woke up at dawn the other day and opened the curtain that reveals the back yard. There was a Mama deer and SIX does softly trotting across my back yard.
