Last night I saw the new movie 'The Fighter'. It's a pretty good movie, kind of an remake of the Rocky story with more profanity. It's about two brothers that are both fighters. They are the only boys in a large family. It's almost cartoonish how white-trashy the family is portrayed. For maximum lowlife effect, the dad owns a roofing company that employs a bunch of the sisters as roofers. But at least they made the Dad one of the most likeable characters. And the one that could string together the most words between f-bombs.
The sisters are awful!!!!!!!!!!! I saw the movie last night and loved it, but can see if you are not from MA, or Lowell for that matter what the attraction to the movie would be. Christian Bale did an outstanding job as Dicky Eklund. http://www.rooferscoffeeshop.com/rcs/users/pault/
wywoody Said: Pault, Do you ever see any of the sisters at Bradco? Im curious as to how accurate that was.I have met one of the sisters at a baroom in Lowell several times and would say the depiction of them is right on. Ifyou have any free time check out the old HBO special "High on Crack Street, Lowell MA " That should provide some entertainment for you! http://www.rooferscoffeeshop.com/rcs/users/pault/This is an article about a local roofing contractor thatused to be a wellknown fighter named Ray Lamkin. Hes actually given me two leads for tile repairs, although both times he got my name from a supplier and on the second one had no recollection of having worked with me before. But considering what hes been through, its understandable. Im proud to say I know him even if hes clueless who I am. Hes a good guy.

I didn't want to see it, but now that you mentioned "roofers" in the movie! LOL
AND hey! I had my 5 & 3 year old little girls help me install a gutter and fascia for a customer once! (They were actually smarter than some of the mutts I had working for me at time! Only had to be told once what they had to hand me and they did it right the first time! In the blood maybe?)
Watch it there bud!
