The Difference Between Dems & Reps

TA-DA!

In my little mind I have worked it out. The Dems want government employees and the Reps want to contract it out. That's it.

There are of course diversions to this debate, but the core is that the Dems want to reward their voting bloc and the Reps want to reward their cronies.

That's all folks. Who is going to get your money.

Besides scoring points with the voters, neither one wants to take an axe to the deficit or reduce the HUGE government. Neither wants to contain spending or the debt. Neither has a care about efficient government.

Their only disagreement is about how to split the spoils.

lots of great answers! by definition, the difference is that in a constitutional republic (which by the way is what you have) the majority rules but under the constitution. in democracy, the majority rules period. if it's unconstitutional the majority will have it anyway. both of these forms of government are centuries old and have predictable outcomes. republics always fade into democracies and democracies always, without failure fade into what's called "tyranny of the majority" , which is the current situation in the usa. however i really don't speak of such things since my father rescued me from that situation. i still pray for all of you though. all of the best

The democrats want to give you a fish.

The republicans want to teach you to fish.

Both will take the meat and leave you with the head.

Me, I am going fishing instead of discussing dems and reps.

Term limits w/ no Pension Tim

We get the government we deserve. We get the government we vote for. The solution is so simple it's stupid: term limits. Term limits solves most of the political ills, but too few voters are paying attention to demand term limits of their candidate.

Term limits and a balanced budget admendment...

There is no difference, and we all know that. Since they don't follow the Constitution anymore, there are no rules to follow, so it is each to his own.

Momma used to say the only difference is who gets what and why. And also, she said the losers are the middle class. The low class live free and the high class protect theirs with lobbying war and off shore.
