We used to have an employee we called Evil Boggy. During breaks from roofing he would lay a scoop shovel face down on the roof like a ramp, push a wheelbarrow as fast as he could and, jump that sucker 20'. I can think of about 19 reasons why that was a bad idea.

Roofing a large apartment complex in San Antonio about 30 years ago, the 25 or so 2-story flat roof buildings were about 20' apart. I discovered that a faster way to get from one building's roof to the next was to get a run across the roof, put one foot on the rung of the ladder and grab both rails, then kick off pole vaulting style over to the next roof, and as the ladder hit the gravel stop I'd jump up over the rungs and run onto the other roofs.

What are you trying to do, create an encylcopedia on Stupidity??? I'm sure if you get these guys going this could be a long thread. I was new to roofing at the time but some idiot at a football game, I believe it was the Chicago Bears, field goal won the game, this guy flew from the stadium to catch the ball, which he did, fell about 30+ feet. Reporters talking to him later asked what do you do. "I'm a roofer" 'nuff said. :S PC
