I won't mention the region of the world these participants in these last 2 situations are from - suffice that they were similar enough to make me wonder if it's a well thought out strategy.
Both situations went like this: The owner/manager dangled numerous huge roofing projects in front of me. They had me running night & day, scrambling to get bids to them because they were ready to pull the trigger on all of the projects...supposedly.
Ok, that's the carrot part.
Then they stick a crappy little 28 SQR roof job with decking problems in there in hopes that you'll take on a problem roof for them while daydreaming about getting their large job.
This happens in any region...whereever chucknatruck resides... :angry:
One of the oldest tricks in the book. A variation of "yeah, I need a bid on these 240 houses. BTW, get the tile mfr to donate the five models, along with your labor discount. Here's your contract (house to house). Hey, great job on the models, but we have a lower bid now. Adios".
