I have a customer with several houses on her property with storm damage. One house was hit by a fallen tree, with the roof recieving most of the damage on one side, with evidence of impact and wind damaged tabs, over the entire roof. 40 sq. I bid it for total replacement. Enter insurance adjuster. Claims there is only damage to the roof where the tree hit. Offering only 4000 for roof and inside repairs. I told him he needed to reinspect. He said he already did. On the first inspection he didnt even have a ladder. On the second, he borrowed a ladder from the property and came to the same conclusion. Told me to check it again and then call him. Fer sure storm damage, needs total replacement. Property owner says 1 year date from storm is this week and is afraid she will miss out on settlement past that. I dont think it works that way but am not sure. This is in Georgia. Another property has a torch down roof on a 1/4" pitch that needs replacement. 45 sqs. Local roofer bid to tear it off, install regular role roofing for $6500. For $8500, they could upgrade to new role roofing. wtf is dat, that is how they spelled it, honest.
Thats why I love Florida you have to follow the codes and proper licensing in all storm work. I often wondered why many insurance companies pulled out of Florida and other increaqsed their premiums. The state is very hard on those folks follow the rules or get the hell out lol
I believe ya max!
