We like to do this once or twice around Christmastime. My first job when I was 14, was as a carhop at the A&W Root Beer my mom managed. It can be a thankless job and some customers are downright mean.
Today in this video, I pulled into Sonic and ordered a Dr Pepper. It was $1.83, I gave the carhop a $100 and told him to keep the change. He thought it was a prank, he had to ask twice of I was serious.
For those of us in the roofing business $98 won't buy much, but for a carhop it may mean 4 more toys under the Christmas tree for kids who have had it hard.
Go do something good for someone who can't do anything for you in return, tomorrow. It will benefit you more than the recipient.
