Snow Guards

I realized I'm not as smart as I thought I was. I've been set in my ways and didn't even know I was doing things wrong for so many years. After messing up 100's of snow-guard installations,today I finally learned the correct way to retrofit them on the roof. I hereby apologize to all the people I did wrong. Thank you, whoever installed these, so I can further my knowledge.

As long as enough heat is coming out, I am sure it will blow the water away!

Old School I'm pretty sure it's to let the heat out and the water in.

Only a half inch hole. Is that to let the water out or let it in?

You hit the nail on the head. All over the house! They straightened the 'nailable' end and just slid that up the keyway out of site. Damage isn't evident yet and since I went over-budget from what I expected the cost to be, I let it slide for now. I redid 10-20 previous repairs including numerous negative headlaps and low sitting bibs. :woohoo: :woohoo:

How do you like this chimney corner?

Did they drill a hole in the joint and drive them in? That is the same buckingham roof isn't it?
