We had snow in mid-june...Now it's back first of October...Less than 4 mos. w/o snow....Very short re-roof season for us. Darn global warming!

Maybe you could feature Venison on the menu!

We're GC's as well, so we typically stay busy. Although it's slim-picken's these days....We're starting a small bristro remodel next week.

Tom, why not find a wintertime business? A lot of guys who're in the car wash business in northern climes, plow snow from parking lots in wintertime for extra income.

Supposed to be 2 feet of snow tonight. Kind of hard to keep ahead of.

I have skied Vail before, and it was great. What a huge area. Beaver Creek too! Like you say though, maybe 6 months to do the work because I would not want to be up on some of those buildings in the middle of winter. Whew!

OS....Used to be....No more big $'s today!....There's more roofing done by co,'s out of Denver than locals.

I don't think any of these local outfits would last 15 minutes in Denver, or anywhere that required true technical & business savy....The party was over a few years ago, (when, simply because some yea-whoo could charge an exhorbitant amount, thereby making him/her an expert).

I had a contractor tell me once, that he threw his calculator away after being here six months. It was nuts....There are some less-than-competent roofers/contractors here, that, I'm sure, made an awfull lot of $ over the last two decades.....There's a few good ole boy club types remaining. However, I think most have sobered-up since 08' or so.

We had a KK rig in Glenwood Springs, CO in the late 1970's. The owners were nephews of MLB pitching legend Goose Gossage, who evidently backed their roofing venture.

That is why you get the big bucks out there. You can only work for about 6 months at most. The rest of the time you ski. I know how it works.

Doesnt sound like a good place to be a roofing contractor.
