You already saw some pixs of this one. No need to move the spout. The owner wanted to be able to clean it easily. The long run comes from a roof of 40 sq. ft.
900 sq. ft. above it all dumping onto the slate roof near the eave!

Frank Love your detail work. The aluminum gutters will be the first to go so not so bad in that respect, The wall flashing won't leak and aluminum is cheaper. Roof flashing is a very technical part of the roof construction. No matter what flashing material you choose, the longevity of the flashing is directly related and impacted by proper installation. Don't know about you, I for one would like to see more pics of SuzyQ, I'm just saying,

Nothing wrong with copper for sure, but there is nothig wrong with aluminum either. I use lots of both. Just don't mix them.
I don't think I would make a very good "blogger" Just when you think you know everything and say it, you are showing the world what you don't know. If asked, I will say what I think, other than that, just don't blame me when what I tell you happened before happens again.

I agree with what Tinner is saying. Copper if far superior to aluminum. My boss covered this topic on his blog. Check it out. http://chrisverrone.com/?p=226 Thanks-Suzannah
I probably should have also noted for any homeowners looking at this that since copper is 'nobler' than aluminum, it may also eat a hole in the aluminum gutter the downspout empties into.
Old School Said: aluminum downspout and copper flashings?
Why break the pattern? Brown aluminum gutter and DS all over the house. Those are existing pieces, btw. I added the long foot and the bottom-most elbow from the upper roof.

There is fancy brickwork on each corner of the house. Here's a peek.

I fill the back ends of my flashing so no water will ever follow it to it's end and get behind a step flashing.
