Slate and tile and standing seam metal roofs

Why would I want my name to come up on top for the single word 'Roofing'????? THat have roofing in China.

Now, try a slate roof in Richmond Va, which has MY target audience and my clients and I come up on top. For a targetted audience. The shotgun approach is pretty expensive.

Superpages is the Verizon(Now frontier) publishing company, or yellow pages. So Tinner, if you go to google and type in "roofing " does your name come up on the map at the top. I'm going to research this to make sure he isn't selling me a line of crap....meeting w/ him tomorrow again.

That's using the free Google Webmaster Tools to see what phrases people looking for roofers are actually using and using those particular phrases on your website so it comes up #1. That way, you pop up every time somebody is looking for your services.

Referrals are King, even then!

Or, just pay somebody to pay Google to $10.00 every time the word 'roofing' is used in somebody's search for whatever to be the top paid ad in the Google search. At least then, one out of 20 times it comes up, it might be somebody looking for you.

Tinner, what is "SEO" Dawg. $850 a month goes on for a full year too, not just in the months when you are working. That hurts! Been there and done all of that. Some of the guys up here are going with the full page or double full page in color at about $4,000 a month. wow! Word of mouth with a small crew is looking better and better. You have to do something to differenciate yourself so that you can get the referals.

What are 'shingles'? Slate and Copper here. Business is steady and being #1 on G keeps leads for all the other forms of roofing coming in.

We do mostly shingling and some modified bitumen but I'm trying to break into the TPO market. We advertise mostly w/ Superpages - $850 per month which I absolutely hate paying but apparently their database powers google's maps/directory service. We have word of mouth on our side so I'm really trying to cut this cost down.
