Getting back into single-ply, first job is 30,000 sq. ft. Tear off 2" ISO and TPO and replace with same. Building is 20' tall, decent access.

We may long-term lease a reachable forklift before we buy. What is a good compromise size that will do most jobs that can be pulled behind a 1-ton pickup with trailer?

Lift capacity of 5,000 lb is enough?

Those lifts are great, but expensive. I have an old 36 ' unit, paid for a long time ago and it does what we need. You need a semi to transport it though. On the other hand, it you are only going 5 or 6 miles, you can drive it with someone following you. Just a thought.

Tim,

Your capacity drops exponentially with stick length. If you don't have at least 45 feet and 10,000# I think you're going to greatly regret the purchase. You aren't pulling that behind a 1 ton pickup with any great success.

I'd highly recommend looking for a used crane, or just renting a lift, as needed and dictated by jobsite conditions.
