I didn't get any pictures because it was raining, but I was at a condo project this weekend and someone roofed a curved roof over an entrance that started almost vertical and continued up until it curved over to the other side. They shingled it the whole way, right to the flat spot where they stopped and put the ridge cap. Un-believable. I think they must have had grace over the whole thing as it wasn't leaking too bad, but what are the roofers thinking?
I've seen that too often around here. Tearing off a residential roof w/ a dormer like that in a week or two, actually. about 5 year old shingles, imagine that.
Might not be the roofers fault. Might be the builder wanting to cheap it and told em just shingle it.
The reason I say this is because it happened to me before and I told the builder it would leak like a water hose with shingles but he insisted so I told him the rounded dormers would have no warranty.
Was the last house I did for him also. Ethics..
