Hi folks...I got a customer that has a roof that was replaced around 1997-98. He is having us install a new roof but he wants shingles like the ones on it now. I should have taken a picture but didnt.
The shingles are standard size 3 tab shingles but they have a black shadow around them. They look like a slateline or something like that, but only they are 3 tabs....not 4 or more.
The black shadow is very distinct about 2" down from bottom of overlaying shingle and in the rain lines.
Any ideas without a picture?
I was actually thinking of the Supreme Shadow, not the Prominence! Prom was a Horizon knock off. How did they hold up?
Tell the HO to get over it....show him something comparable. Bring on your salesmanship. Architechurals have good options. Sell him on the fact he is replacing a 10/11 year old roof with 3 tabs, sell him a 30 yr something. PC
Good call Twill.....It was an O/C Promi......discontinued last year.
Is it FGlass? O/C had a shadow 3 tab shingle through the 90's. Not sure when it was dis continued. Does it have the O/C continuous sealant strip?
Last time I shingled a 3-tab like that was in 2000. Thats was the last of the shadowy 3-tabs on the market. Havn't seen any marketing since.
That's a tough one!
