not near as many posts on here as there used to be. last time i was on here was sometime just before iraq when everyone was telling me what a dumbass i was for saying we should think carefully before we commit to this as its not going to be as easy to occupy that country as dessert storm went. so after being blasted mercilessly for my opinion and being told how stupid i was for not jumping on the "6 months to a year" bandwagon i took i hiatus. sooo....any of those fellas around still?
Brent, you are not getting blasted because, ...Just because. We are a kinder gentler bunch now.
Twil. You are absolutely correct. But, the "poor boys" are volunteering to go and do the fighting. Not too "glorious" when one is in the middle of it though. I believe that all of the odl farts on both sides should go and kill each other first, and then we can a truce and drink beer.
i wasnt really going too just for the record
wow not getting blasted now thats for sure lol. guess if a fella want to stir things up around here a little hes gotta blast them there wolverines a little huh?
9/11 and going to Iraq was a confusing time. I agreed at the time it was best and the fearmongers convinced us we had no other choice. The Barbarians were at the gate.
It was painful and embarrassing to watch Colin Powell flush his career away at the UN. It was obvious the man did not believe a word he was saying. It was obvious but I still went with the flow.
But then again........I thought it was about getting the bad guys.....
So............... I realized very quickly (and I posted here) that there was NO WAY 125,000 American troops would hold that country together. If one did the math, ( very SIMPLE math) I quickly concluded that silliness and ametuarism was driving the Bush Train.
250,00 or so dead, wasted surplus and lost treasury, 'cause the FRAT BOYS needed a few chuckles. Or they wanted to show the world that they had something between their legs......in the historical fashion of sending poor people to do their fighting for them.
Typical scumbags
we ate ohio barbeque at great wolf lodge mason
The way I undertsand it, The Pentagon is about ready to start burning the money that the DemReps are shoving onto them. They have nowhere to spend it, but it keeps pouring in on them
I was in ohio awhile back in columbus first time in that area of the country started our trip in lexington then louisville for the color run and up to mason ohio to the amusement park and lodge on to columbus and on a plane to the big easy
Top of the morning to you, OS on this fine church going Sunday. I can't see how the hell we are going to bring back 100,000 of our best and squeeze them into this economy. It's probably best we ship them somewhere and keep companies busy outfitin them with the best equipment our tax dollars can buy. We can't have it both ways. That's why some many want us to stay there. It keeps them employed, it keepes companies employing to mfg, distribute, sell the products to kepp the machine running, and keep our positions around the world. I hate taxes as much as the next but, damn, if we need the to keep the defense budget going we have to tax The Dems dont like spending for defense, they want to spend for things at home. The needy things. and too many people jump on the bandwagon and overload it the other way, and the Reps. don't like those kind of taxes. I dont like either. But there can be a compromising medium if the asses would just sit at the table and hammer it out. OS, Did you know the upper 10 or so miles of oHIO was Michigan territory. And them buckeyes cheated and lied to keep it. Cut and Paste link below http://apps.detnews.com/apps/history/index.php?id=168
Brent, me and Rocky are from Michigan. Go Blue!!
Brent, huge mistake to go into the Mideast. It will be even worse if they decide to go into Iran. We don't seem to be able to mind our own business! Hey Rocky!
Not another buckeye. OS, what, are we to do? I wasn't into Coffeeshop back then nor wanting to go into Iraq. Going in and taking over was the easy part. Staying and trying to control a culture of flea bitten, dusty dark alley crawling, back stabbing, suicide bombing, lunatic towelheads(not all of them) was what we couldn't and didn't do. Does anyone really think we implanted democracy there? Not! But a hearty welcome back and I'll be looking forward to this Saturday in Dallas and November the 24th in columbus. We'll put a dot on that I for you. Go Blue. Yea baby! It's here. College football time. Best Rivaly in sports. Ohio State and Michigan. Hail to the Victors
