I make only two adjustments for winter here in central alabama. I dress warmer and don't start working until 9 am. Compared to 6 am in the summer. The work load is always determined by the rain. I do not want it to be overly busy but it often is after hard rains. I know how much I need to make and bid my jobs accordingly understanding that I will only be working on roofs 2-3 days a week and estimating or picking up supplies the rest of the time.

Busy, shingles are booked thru January. Some for spring. Gutter and siding booked into December. Repairs coming in steady. Gutter cleanings steady, will be picking up this week, as the height of the autumn foilage is upon us. We added masonry and painting this year and that is coming in steady. Insulation is picking up.

Frank, You are a survivor, your will, will play the biggest part.

Tim, I am not so sure that God picks the time we leave here other then making the laws that determine the time. The time we spend here is based on the decsions we make and how we live. Saying God picks the time is a way we relieve ourselves of the responsibility of our actions. I believe that God knows the exact time yet he did not pick it.

Anyone can pick a person and say Lefty how do you explain this? My answer would be"I can not". I would not pretend that my mind could comprehend all the things that pick the time. I do believe that my will to live plays the biggest part.

Nice try Twill, but I'm not taking the bait...:-)

GK, I hope your surgery goes well. Do not listen to doctor's prognostication too much. My stepmom was diagnosed with terminal cancer and was given 6 months to live. That was nearly 2 years ago.

In 1994 I was in a bad car wreck. The helicopter EMTs radio'd ahead to the hospital that they had a "probably DOA onboard." For the next 2-3 days the surgeons told my family I probably wouldn't make it thru the day. That was 20 years ago.

There are 2 people in charge of how long you have to live: you, and God. Don't let anyone try to wiggle themselves in between that.

Frank, why are they saying you might not make it through this surgery?

We are backed up just over 1 million sq. ft. on foam roofs. Our second rig was just finished in Phoenix, in a 24' box truck, which should help us catch up. It gets delivered Tuesday and has the Graco H-40, a hoss is a proportioner.

We slow down in the winter but work 12 months out of the year. So long as daytime temps get above 50 we can spray foam, and if they're above freezing we can spray emulsion.

Jobs are coming in, but I'm passing them off to others. :( Getting ready for heart surgery, then shoulder surgery if I survive the first one. That's questionable though. The Doc told the Wife Mon. that it wouldn't hurt for her to have my replacement lined up and ready to take over. Not sure I'll get all my commitments done before Dec. or not. :(

At least it's been a good run, so I'm not worried. Ya'll take care! :)
