My wife went outside on Saturday and called me to see three big robins on our back porch. I guess they do winter in Michigan, but I had never seen them. this morning when I left, there must have been 40 of them nesting in the crab apple tree in our yard. It was -4 degrees this morning. What gives? Spring must be close, but the forecast is below average for the month. Not supposed to get above 25 this week. Hey, they were big fat robins anyway!
It's been buzzards around here. There will be about a dozen of them picking at every piece of road kill on the streets. The big vultures just stand there. I try to run them over every time but they fly away right at the last second. When I look in the rear view mirror, they have lit back down on the road kill immediately after I passed over it.
We've been getting inundated w/ Blue Jays, Chickadees and Cardinals and some kind of Starling at our feeder. No robins tho. A couple of squirrels too.....they're really funny to watch
