I just update///d this site. I have not messed with it in a few months.
HOW DO THE PAGES LOAD?
http://www.nwiroofleaksandrepairs.com
Thanks!
I like the information you provide. However I would put less of it on the home page. Make it simpler and with obvious links to more information. People (myself included) have very short attention spans when viewing webpages unless they quickly see something to catch their interest.
Just my opinion. One of these days I'll put mine up for review too.
Hope you didn't think I was being hard on you like was said.
Thanks tinner
I do like the text and info on the site. Like I said though, change the pics to much lower res. You want them to snap up there. As for demographics, many high dollar clients live outsidethe DSL range. You want those page to load fast, even at 56k.
And, that search button needs to go. AS the web guy asked me once, "If you got a visitor there, why give them a reason and method to just navigate away? Search engines, and buttons are portals to the web, not your site."
Newer 12MP cameras even have a setting to make pics 200kb or less. Use the camera's menu.
I like the site. The pictures take sometime to load. Other then that I like the site.
-Too wide on the home page...compact the page for a vertical feel, but leave the other pages normal. Your right and left borders shade the aqua-marine color your using...like WIDESCREEN...only sideways, give it that business card feel -Where is your "careers" clicker? -What about a video of you and you personal pledge to your customers?
Most people who are going to buy a roof from you have better than standard internet service, the pics an captions are great!!!!leave them
When I was in the Army, they gave us fancy names for our job titles "Fire Direction Specialist" on my applications , I naver use roofer...called my self a "Roofing Installation Specialist" or "Roof Repair Technician" Use these fancy titles to dress us your home page.
Five being the best...I give 3 1/2 stars.
I only rent an office there woody. That's my landlords trucks and junk. No sandpile. or pavement. Just dirt and gravel.
I am glad you like the quotes. I enjoy them too
I like the quotations scattered about. It's like you get a fortune cookie on every page. I looked at the aerial picture of your place on your map. What's with the sandpile and dump trucks?
OK. I have some breathing space. Each time I posted before, I had 2 phones ringing, my wife and one client in the house!
Wasn't trying to be harsh, but you need to change the keywords and use phrases. "Northwest Indiana Foofing Company, Residential Roofing, House leak repairs, leaking roof repairs," for instance.
Peopel like me, (there may only be 3 in the world), click the back button when a site doen't load fast. I for one, don't care for music, videos, or slide shows. I get more input from text, and in my case, detail oriented pics. Hi-def pics are for printing out. Not websites when it slows them down. You might try thumbnailing them, but they are nearly thumbnail size now.
I tried the portfolio page. One pic popped up and the others tried loading. After a minute, maybe a bit less, I closed the window.
Try this page with lots of pics. http://www.albertsroofing.com/Solder%20Details.htm
It won't post my C&P with Meta in it.
Good call Jed. My C&P didn't post! Let me try again. It's supposed to read:
Use G webmaster tools to find how many people use these terms in a web search:
" keywords"Northwest,Indiana's,Most,Dedicated,Roofing, Company,. We,Perform,All,Roof,Related,Repairs."
I think the answer will be '0'.

I like it. Not to slick but functional like any good roofer. The pics did take a little time but I think tinner is being a little harsh on you with a zero. Dennis already picked up on "cupalo" as opposed to "cupola", and why would you abreviate the word "with"?.... w/?
Pictures you have need to go. Way too large (Megabit-wise). Most people won't wait for them to load. Take new ones at 640x480, or whatever. And use thumbnails when and where possible. Why would you want visitors to leave the site and search the web? Get rid of that!

technically efficient, thought the old one had some pizazz with the color scheme, the white seems dry,I like the colors www.advancedroofingnewyork.com
Pictures were a bit slow to load. But I'm on dsl.
Layout is a bit odd with the fluid design. Might look better with a maximum width. Especially the title "Northwest Indiana Roof Leaks and ..." A .gif or .jpg in the header might look better. Navigation links are a little small for my eyes. "Cupola"
