Yesterday I heard scuttlebut about a storm coming up. Yeah, yeah, more hoopla exagerated as they have 24 hrs a day to kill/fill. ROTRO "I see" a storm coming. Harrisburg is in the sights of the storm. They now have my attention. A fair 60-72 hr warning, expected here Monday/Tuesday which means the following: Preparing for power outage not only for myself but Mom. Food & necessity shopping tomorrow as a precaution, batten down the hatches, real time. I have family through Maryland, Philadelphia, Long Island. Frank in Virginia and TRG in New York & Lefty in Allentown. We are getting HIT. It's times like this I hope everyone is wrong! Not likely this time.
In all honestly there has been disastrious events all over the USA these past years but our region in sc PA has not been affected to any extreme. Our last regional disaster was the flood of '72 Hurricane Agnes & Three Mile Island "79. My hope is that this "Sandy" is a fly by night. PC
Pennsylvania was hit pretty hard, the usual expected problems, flooding of course due to many streams & tributaries to the Susquehanna. Very well prepared and manageable. Personally AOK. No damage or power loss, schools open etc. BUT New Jersey and New York are devastated, I'm sure you have seen on TV. Thanks to all out of state Utilities & First Responders to PA, we are on standby to assist NJ & NYC. Times like this make you count your blessings. Prayers for the devastating losses to thousands in my old home town NYC. PC
Shes up to 90 sustained gusting to 115 and expected to intensify, looks like yall better be boarding up on the coast and getting ready for a nasty one as things mixs up with that cold front its going to be bad!
Oh Ciak so close but yet so far. Still calm around town as you know but we are in for a heavy 24/48 hours. I'm about 15 miles west of you between Carlisle & Mechanicsburg. Things are changing this afternoon so stay safe. Welcome to my neighborhood. PC
