I have a 12/12 and 16/12 about 88sq - synthetic underlayment - insight on realistic installation pricing at 5 bundles per sq - In cold temp's and these pitches - I would like to be sure of my pricing...

$68 here......Auto shop's get over $100, and the customer brings the work to them! Funny how that works.

Fair would be about $80/ hr + mat'l. That would include correspondingly fair wages. Here I charge $60 and I'm way past due to raise my prices.

In the fantasy world that has become the real world, there might be a few companies charging $45, with the going out of business / uninsured rate well below $40. Maybe as low as $25/ hr.

I am a licensed contractor :cheer: only been in roofing nearly 18 years... I know what to charge ~ sometimes it is nice to bounce ideas off others ~ that's where I'm at :)

Wow! Really? Biding work you have no idea what's involved? That's a bit scary.....Oh, but wait....In a state w/o licensing? Now it makes sense.....

Thank you to all those who responded ~ got the job for $200 per sq ~ again thank you we appreciate you pitching in with pricing that was huge!

I have another situation ~ a little more complicated ~ 84' long barn, 18' to eave, 16/12 (14'up) and 6/12 at roof change (9'up) to ridge. Swags dips and bellies from 1/2" to 6-7" across entirety. Haven't billed yet (owner expecting additional charges) ~ a lot of carpentry and woodwork done to level out for sheeting (7/16) idea's on fair pricing welcomed. Thank you.

seen-it-all

88 square, 12 dormers, 26 valleys, 28 returns on 2 story with 12/12 and 16/12 pitch at this time of year, ice, snow, wind, freezing rain.

I would be in at about $35,000. for labour.

How about this sonja: Say you have a 3 man crew. W/O OT they cost you $3000 per week. Say that this job takes 4 weeks. (20 days) $12,000 labor and labor burdens. $136 per sq. What does your company need for 60 man days? 480 man hours? How GP and How much NP?

Nobody else can answer those questions for you.

IF the question really is " What price will land the job?" Then the probable answer is: "The Lowest Price"

That would be my $99. per square (plus extras) daily special. Getting out of the truck, that's my first extra of the day.

I'd be $300-$350 plus a per foot cost of $6.00 to $10.00 per foot for valleys, flashing, etc.
