Or other bad guys. :-)

I took a Defensive Vehicle class today taught by some pretty capable dudes. One is a former SEAL, all are very good instructors.

We got to actually shoot from inside a pickup. A real pickup, not a mockup made of plywood. It's much more difficult to shoot from inside a vehicle than you might think. We also got to shoot through the windshield at a target, from inside the truck. It's harder than you think to force yourself to pull the trigger when the muzzle is 10" from the windshield.

Also learned how little protection a pickup bed ;provides. Learned some great principles on where to take cover behind a vehicle, how fast a bad guy can get to you before you can draw and shoot him from inside a vehicle.

Very well-organized class. Best one I ever took.

Yes, the KSG is an awesome weapon! I've heard it tends to pinch fingers.

About a week ago in Ferguson, a young couple went out and bought a pistol. The 26 year old female passenger waived the weapon around exclaiming that they were ready for the chaos if it were to happen. The boyfriend ducked and rear-ended a car. Pow, the girl shoots herself in the head, game over.

Sad story, but I hope it makes people realize that they shouldn't play with ANY weapons in a vehicle.

I held a KSG just a few nights ago. Now that sucker will make you feel like you could disable a crowd.

Zombies is a euphemism for bad guys.

That, and what tinner describe, would be interesting classes for sure. Never did give zombies a second thought, but bad guyz iz real. Social media being what it is, something like Ferguson, MO could spread nationwide in hours, putting our sense and perception of "peace" on it's ear.

If the zombies are anything like the ones on the walking dead, it won't be that difficult to stop them. They're terribly slow.

Tinner, I agree. Coming from a martial arts background, and now into guns and tactical stuff, I like to work on good situational awareness all the time. Stuff like leaving a car length ahead of you at the stoplight, not getting trapped in the center lane at the stoplight, choosing the farthest gas pump from the building at night.

It's almost a hobby for me.

Only time I shot from a vehicle, I was about 8 and the bullet landed in my leg somehow. Never did tell the truth abut that one! :woohoo: I said I got tangles in barbed wire and ripped that hole in my pants and leg! Hotas that thing was, it only seemed to take seconds to dig it out!

I've practiced Chitwood maneuvers for many years and still do for defense driving. Not gun related, but i got cut off by two cars turning onto the road in front of me Sun. Closed both lanes and I had to swerve onto the grass and gravel verge and back onto the highway at 65. Even as it was fishtailing a bit, I hit resume and kept trucking. I didn't even look back to see if the cop at the intersection pulled either driver. B) Stuff like that, and self defense should be second nature for most people. I practice both on a regular basis and I'm fairly comfortable when I'm sideways. :)
