Terry's thread about the inspector wanting the gutters pitched got me wondering about the practice. Around here, it is extremely rare to see a gutter pitched to the downspout. In fact, the most common gutter installation method with a tile roof here is>>>

Pitched here. Having positive flow will help move some debris out. When pitched gutters clog, most of the leaves are over the outlet. Unpitched seem to completely end to end and pack solid.>>>
