I have been so patient, waiting and waiting on our President to be a topic.

My conclusion is that you're all wussies.

I don't care which party any of us belong to...that is or should not be an issue.

Do you love where you live? Not only your town, community, state. Are you an AMERICAN?

This healthcare issue is crucial! Talk about it. It affects me. I'm not insured.

I'm registered with a clinic for 5$ copay for minimal care, I give thanks.

I'm a part of the statistics, one of the millions.

I thank God that I'm a healthy person and grew up in a time where you don't freak with a headache, whimp to the DOC, you ride it out. I have to, no recourse.

I talk to folks about it and the common saying is "Universal Medical Won't Work"

He is not asking "Universal" or "Social" ......pay attention.

He is speaking of a "Public" service for those of us to feel comfortable in seeking medical attention. Don't even start with "that's what welfare does" WELFARE assistance in my position can rape me. Doesn't sound nice does it. Welfare will take everything you have and allow you a pitinze for survival.

I've never done this before but I actually emailed Obahma the other day with my opinion and support.

Throw me your thoughts.

Here is mine. They track us for Social Security for later benefits. Why not the same on health insurance? Example.. They work for MikeH then Copperman then TRG then Me. Souldn't matter if it's personal, shared or company paid. Money paid for a purpose. Follow it, keep a log and due to a BLANK PERIOD they are covered not discarded to a necessary system. This could help fill in the voids. I'm using my self as an example. I was insured for 25 yrs. 1 hospital stay for 1 week for birth and the usual checkups & copay. Left my job of 11 years, 1 month later hospitalized not insured. All paid by me & employer was VOID after 11 years. I paid thousands out of pocket. B*LLCHIT>

I'm not done just expired for the moment. I need a break. Your fellow citizen PC

As to me personally I have no answers. I am just glad I'm not a wuss, can carry my own and can deal with diagnosing myself, not feeling the need to run to the Doc. Not being stupid or ridiculous but

This health care issue is a tough one -- I hate to see it turned into a government controlled one like the VA health care -- I would like to see doctors close to the top of the pay scale - Even the research on new drugs / treatments etc... This has to be the toughest job in the world.

If we stand back and look at it "INSURANCE" what is it? It is a "just in case something bad happens" Not everyone can afford it. Look at a child being born with a heart defect the entire life of that child is going to be paid for by people who do not use their insurance. so really is this fair? The total number of claims have to be paid in premiums by all -- Even people on medical assistance or other types of healh care are paid for by People who pay taxes. In my opinion as fair as it can be.

My point is how are they going to change anything other than taking money from the people who provide services or take away the quality or the option to get more opinions or the better medication. So the child born with the heart defect will be most likely under the new government mandated policy which means follow their rules see their doctors most likely a system like the VA has. The way it is now if my child were to have been born with a defect i could see whatever doctor or get more opinions We have a good policy it is expensive - now i am sure we would still have that option but i am also sure that would mean even higher premiums if we did not take the government policy.

What it comes down to is the healthy people paying for the unhealty people - The problem is the healty people pay less because they are healthy and the same is they are healthy so they should be able to work more and make more. This is a part of why the people with more money pay higher taxes it balances out obviously the people who are ill cannot work to make as much so are dependant on others succeding. I believe the system works fine how it is now. We have the best doctors, drugs, research, care facilities in the world. everyone can get treatment in a timely manner.

We are all becoming more and more spoiled the end of our freedom is coming closer every day - As with anything things can be improved lets not trust all in our government trust in ourselves do the right thing. If i am sick and can afford to pay to see the doctor i will and i do up to 12k a year - People who think it is fair they spend $100.00 on insurance then go see the doc who charges 200.00 need to rethink the situation its not free money you are using someone elses money. The overpayment i pay now i believe is worth it $7200 a year in premiums _ if i end up in the hospital because i break a leg or need surgury or something worse -- this is nothing compared to what it would cost personally. i have already been told i need a hernia operation a knee operation and neck / back unless i can deal with the pain i am 38 and i plan on dealing with the pain "Knock on wood" - Not only because i am deathly afraid of being knocked out or put under but also the costs involved i would feel bad i can not afford all of it and would be asking the Insurance company/ people for a handout.

One more perspective if one of my children got really sick i would give everthing i own and ever will own to save their life. In America chances are better treatments are better all is better - Even if i had no insurance this would never be the case in America the way things are now. They can slap a debt on you but ther are plenty of way to get out of medical bills without losing everthing you own you will however pay a price which in my opinion is justified.>>>

Well good evening Ladies & Gentlemen,

Quite the read.

Minnesota roofing: Agree...sportstars are another topic altogether. Overpaid, arrogant and their poop don't stink. A very embarrassing thing to entice young strong talented atheletes into a world of $$$$$ totally mesmerizing them into a world of deceit, deception and expecting nothing but to be above the law.

We need to spin wheels

12K a year....doesn't that piss you off?

Hitting Docs in the pocket NO..they deserve the credit, they put in the time not only in school but as interns. Lets give credit where credit is due. Bunches of loans to pay back. BUT and here comes the BUT. Reviewing my own medical bills, when the Doc comes in to say "hi" for 5 minutes "How are you" "OK" "Good, you seem to be doing fine today" "I'm glad" "any questions" "can't think of anything" "ok, see you tomorrow". $150.00 Next room 412, next room 414, next room 416 that adds up to many $$$$$ per hour. The 10 to 15 $$ tylenol every 4 hours. They buy in bulk, these little, little things add to the anormity of charges.

Yes the ER is an easy out for many. I know cases, thank God the acceptance was there and others I can only shake my head at. BUT this is part of the problem.

MikeH, your composure & monster communist is not the topic.

Egg: that is a good thing.

Jed: Yes, we have been turned into a pill popping society. If the listed and announced side effects don't scare you they should. They are worse than the ailment.

Terry: My heart goes out to you & family. If you think for a moment Obahma has anything to do with your heartbreak, your wrong. The system, our health care system is broken and wrong. Be mad that is good, your personal story is heart breaking but I know personally assistance is out there. My 2 month stay cost approx. 325 to 350 grand. I paid all satellite bills, ambulance, imaging, heart, on and on but could only pay 100.00 a month on the hospital. I was relieved of that debt not by my asking but by forgiveness, it would have taken 25 years. I became a tax write off. Please talk to some other parties that can give you assistance. I'll check back with you.

I'm sure I'll catch some flack over that one. Dump away.

Jet: Wow, Do exactly what the President is saying, you have to shop around. I know BC/BS have the prestige and possibly a great coverage but others are out there with something close in coverage and care. The veterans are covere by a seperate entity other than our current available sources. I dealt with them through my husband. Nothing expediate happens if not an emergency. Depending on your location some of the vet hospitals are recommended over others. Thanks

Pot Gregory: Exactly, no...just like a wild child.. needs to be reined in.

Ciak: Buchanan, do you really listen to him? Racism is not the topic.

Robert: I don't know what they can fix or how. I just know our current state is not working and exploding. As for waste, look at our current representatives in all bodies of the government. Pot bellied pigs. Old school politicians, don't upset the boat, we like it this way.

Getting back to what Minnasotaroofing said about our sportstars.. over paid, compensated, very comfy cozy lazy assed ******* fill in what ever word you want. It is not just healthcare that needs reformed it is the attitude of our senators & representatives.

Terry: One last note. On the other end of the spectrum. I was pleased to hear Obahma mention the wonderful comfort zone our Congress has. They do not know what it is to live your life, our mine. They don't understand the urgency, they will never want for much the rest of their lives. They are covered.

Well, I think I responded to everyone.

You are exhausting. If I pizzed anyone off talk to my secretary about it. Love ya, PC

More goverment control and waste, what do you think they will fix?Thier all in it for themselves and could care less about you.You believe obama cares about you?Its about controlling the billions spent on healthcare so they do what they see fit with it,the sooner these clowns are voted out and sent back to ringleys to resume thier careers in the big tent the better off we will be!>>>

CIAK

BUCHANAN TO OBAMA By Patrick J. Buchanan

Barack says we need to have a conversation about race in America . Fair enough. But this time, it has to be a two-way conversation. White America needs to be heard from, not just lectured to.. This time, the Silent Majority needs to have its convictions, grievances and demands heard. And among them are these:

First, America has been the best country on earth for black folks. It was here that 600,000 black people, brought from Africa in slave ships, grew into a community of 40 million, were introduced to Christian salvation, and reached the greatest levels of freedom and prosperity blacks have ever known. Wright ought to go down on his knees and thank God he is an American.

Second, no people anywhere has done more to lift up blacks than white Americans. Untold trillions have been spent since the ' 60s on welfare, food stamps, rent supplements, Section 8 housing, Pell grants, student loans, legal services, Medicaid, Earned Income Tax Credits and poverty programs designed to bring the African-American community into the mainstream. Governments, businesses and colleges have engaged in discrimination against white folks -- with affirmative action, contract set-asides and quotas -- to advance black applicants over white applicants. Churches, foundations, civic groups, schools and individuals all over America have donated their time and money to support soup kitchens, adult education, day care, retirement and nursing homes for blacks.

We hear the grievances. Where is the gratitude???

Barack talks about new 'ladders of opportunity' for blacks. Let him go to Altoona ? And Johnstown , and ask the white kids in Catholic schools how many were visited lately by Ivy League recruiters handing out scholarships for 'deserving' white kids.? Is white America really responsible for the fact that the crime and incarceration rates for African-Americans are seven times those of white America ? Is it really white America 's fault that illegitimacy in the African-American community has hit 70 percent and the black dropout rate from high schools in some cities has reached 50 percent?

Is that the fault of white America or, first and foremost, a failure of the black community itself?

As for racism, its ugliest manifestation is in interracial crime, and especially interracial crimes of violence. Is Barack Obama aware that while white criminals choose black victims 3 percent of the time, black criminals choose white victims 45 percent of the time?

Is Barack aware that black-on-white rapes are 100 times more common than the reverse, that black-on-white robberies were 139 times as common in the first three years of this decade as the reverse?

We have all heard ad nauseam from the Rev. Al about Tawana Brawley, the Duke rape case and Jena . And all turned out to be hoaxes. But about the epidemic of black assaults on whites that are real, we hear nothing.

Sorry, Barack, some of us have heard it all before, about 40 years and 40 trillion tax dollars ago. We are a Christian Nation even if Mr. Obama says we are not. This needs to be passed around because, this is a message everyone needs to hear!!!>>>

Anyone who doesn't think we have a serious medical care problem in this country is on drugs. I'm elated to see that something might finally happen. My wife and I pay nearly $900 a month for BC/BS coverage. I can't imagine what others do that don't have the income to afford this. I could go to the VA clinic (if necessary)but have found their abilities to be a little suspect when it comes to cleanliness and quality of care. We need to take the profit out of medications and health care in this country. No one should "profit" from denying coverage and over-charging for important health related tests.

Yeah, anyone can walk into an ER and get treatment but only those of us who are contributing to society and paying taxes are actually held responsible for that bill. My husband had heart surgery 2 years ago. No Insurance. We are now expected to pay a hospital bill of just over $51,000.00. This is not including the anesthesiologist, the ambulance that transported him from one hospital to the other and a myriad of other items. The surgeon, knowing we had no insurance, did not bill us a penny and continued treatment after the surgery in his office for nothing. About 6 months after that we were insured through his job. Here comes bypass surgery. He was in the hospital 6 times in 8 weeks for surgeries and complications. The total bill ..... just over $280,000.00, which our insurance picked up 80%. Another $56,000.00 bill I am supposed to pay. These outstanding bills are on my credit record now even though I am paying what I can when I can. If we were on welfare, everything would have been taken care of 100%. We would have no co-pays on the meds which are well over $400.00 a month. I could be sitting at home and waiting for the food stamps to roll in. Sure... I could not afford to go on a vacation but what would that matter? I can't afford it now and I work my ass off.

I am sick and tired of hearing about this lame Health Reform. Don't you think if it were feasible, that the Clintons would have implemented it? Hillary is big on health reform. This country just flat out can't afford Obama's grandiose plans. At least Hillary had the brains to make the statement that she had a lot of ideas but the country couldn't afford them. I do not support either one of them. It really pissed me off when during his speach he said something about this plan not affecting him or the legislators because they have the best health care there is. Nothing like rubbing salt in an open wound for those of us who are paying out the nose for health care and paying on top of that for the co-pays! What unadulterated arrogance!

People need to quit relying on the government to bail their sorry asses out.

As the bumper sticker on my car reads: "DON'T BLAME ME I VOTED FOR McCAIN"

I forget what the numbers are but I do remember that way more people take regular meds than not, and all it takes is a broken fingernail for a body to be heading to the ER or a headache to the doctor. It's ridiculous, but we have been moulded into a society that relies on the "system" and now it's gonna cost us.>>>

Kinda funny how your favorite actor or sportperson makes 10x more than your doc - You ask me they should start in on some of that talent money pool first. get our youngest motivated to be someone who actually contributes - try telling you 6-8 year old that pro athletes and actors get paid more than a doc ""even they will know something is a miss!!"".

As far as the plan goes they are spinning the wheels -

In order for my family benifits to kick in annually i would spend approx 12k in premiums and deductables.

Also remember We Americans cannot be denied medical assistance even non Americans can walk into an ER and be treated without money -- Those of us who are better off financially Like Superstars get the best of the best attention for that little blemish or sore muscle ache -- But hey they are living the dream right? Not contributing but living the dream noone the less.>>>

Twill, I think there is a reform in the works and desperately needed. I know it all sounds like a bunch of krap. It is an enormous effort for a cure. Baby steps but a beginning. He and not he alone has the answers. I don't, you don't, a lot of us don't but we all know the need. This is truly a collective time. Our Senators, Representatives, all Political Parties. All egos need to be left at the door and come in together with focus.

I know too well what you as a business owner is putting out. You are not alone. The transfer of funds is smart. Your (not you) wasting this money, I'll put it where it belongs and used properly. It could be the check these profit corporations running our health industry need. Our advancement in medical science is amazing, interesting and applauded BUT over used because you have insurance.

We are in a close age group........do you remember or still do say 'cause I know I do, " learn to do math in your head before you use a calculator".

My fear is, these new very well educated puppies are learning machines, not the human touch of the of Medicine we grew up with. I'm all for advancement but keep a CURB on it.

I can't speak for state prison but our counties charge the welcomed resident for everything, no freebies, all food automated, calls charged you name it they pay as they go along or billed after with warrant pending for non payment.

Hey, I'm thrilled, as long as I have a non emergency ailment my $5 copay gets a diagnoses & prescription. Beyond that I am screwed.

Miscreant...I agree, total lazy assed, overpaid idiots. It's time to bring in the old school Marm with threats , if you don't perform, your done. NO HOLDS BARRED.

I want to piss people off, I want them to think, this is OUR COUNTRY, OUR REPRESENTATIVES, not their personal agenda. It's all BULLCHIT. It has been allowed to happen for so long, it's time we back up the man willing to confront it. I'm for it.

Clinton tried and was totally beaten down. Those *astards, yes Republicans, focused instead on petty bullchit as a distraction. Bush, I'll pass over him. Now someone is putting the press on.

I understand the questions & the doubtfullness. Im with you, I want to look beyond that to the hope of an answer. Won't happen over night or 4 years but maybe before WE die.

Most of the Dastards holding hard against this will be DEAD. PC
