I recently used mine to pop out a dent in the plastic bumper of my wife's car. Previous uses have been removing decals from a motorcycle tank, softening hoses to fit on fittings and paint removal.

Anyone else used theirs for other things?

Yes, an air hose, and most of us have one or two on a roof. It is basically a air powered hook knife that vibrates at a high speed and cuts many 1/16 inch cuts a second in the shingle. The blades are replacable with a quick attachment and I will see how many it takes to do a roof when the shingles are cold and thick and hard.

I am sure a butane torch on a knife would work too, but it sounds like a lot of extra hassle when you could just replace the cutting blade. I have looked at the shears too, but they are useless for cutting around soil pipes or any curved surface, and I like to rough cut the valleys and then strike a line down the valley and finish it perfectly straight. We are using copper in the valleys too, and this way I can cut them and not worry about punching a hole in the copper. The tool is very light and agile and can get into very tight spaces. we will see how it works. More to come with pictures as the job progresses.

Air powered, so I assume you hook it to a hose? Otherwise it would have a tank. That sounds a lot better than an a utility knife w/ a little butane torch pointing downward! It's out there if you haven't seen it.

I was at the roofers show in Texas a few weeks ago and the booth across the aisle from me had a air powered cutter for shingles. The guy could cut scroll shapes into heavy shingles with it and it only weighs about as much as a hammer. Kind of neat. I am going to get one for the Grand Manor job I have to apply early this spring and I will post some pictures when I do. We will see how long it holds up.

I use a budget (harbor freight) heat gun to warm up comp. shingles prior to cutting. Helps a lot on very cold days when dealing with high-end shingles.

I've used it in tight spots for modified, where I thought even a mini torch might start a fire, especially on older homes. Also to dry up small areas to lay a patch especially if adhesives are close by.Repaired some of my kids broken toys with it too! Also works as a cigarette lighter in a pinch.
