OT.....venting

Spose' to go elk hunting today.....Loaded-up everything late last night....Got up at 3:30AM....rustled 13yr old out of bed....Kid through a fit....Now I'm yakking on there RCS....To think as a kid I could never get my dad to take me hunting....spoiled kids these days....

Twill, Nope...that's what it is....Your lucky they didn't just drop them off...I was a leader up till this year....scouting is most-definitely not what it used to be....it's changed in the last 5-6 years dramatically....a narcisistic world we live in....I have one webelos & one 1st class....just a dad now.

They called us jitterbugs. Down swamp way in the Everglades it was after the jitterbug lure. They told us we was jitter'n around. Hence jits.

Man, when we was jits, our neighbors would take us out on boats, airboats, swamp buggies and such. They couldn't ever leave us behind. They'd say be at the boat or buggie at 3:30 a.m. We would be there A half hour early. Them fellers were as old school as your kid is evolved. Had I bucked, I'd never have gotten the chance to go again.

Took my son to his 1st Cub Scout meeting. I was one of 2 Dads and amongst 7 Moms. I hope that the Dads were working.... :(

I know right. Kids like to sleep these days! My son could sleep until noon if I let him. I was just like Randy, I would get so excited about fishing on the boat I could hardly sleep the night before...sigh the goold ole days!

Man......When I was 13 and my dad had a hunt planned for us, I wouldnt have been asleep at 3:30AM. I use to be like a kid on Christmas eve, couldnt sleep if I had to. I sure miss them days....some of the fondest memories in life were with my dad in the woods or on the lake.

BTW......Where you at Tom? I can be up at 3 AM! :)
