Went out to do a roof inspection yesterday. Roof is shot, CertainTeed Horizons, 15 years old. I was looking at it for a potential buyer. So I had to go into the attic to check a couple of things. I crawled along a series of boards to get into another section of the roof. As I was coming back one of the boards snapped. Wham!, my knees go right through the ceiling and dropped a chunk of drywall and insulation into the bathroom sink. That pisses me off. So I will have done this inspection for nothing and will have to get the ceiling repaired. The buyer said he would pay for it but it's still a pain the rear. The homeowner was cool, but I felt really bad about it. Turns out the board was a piece of particle board, the rest were 1x6 pine boards. It could have been worse but it sure put a damper on the day.
The NHL has that effect Gerry
Been a tough week here too.
Work Comp audit will set me back about $2k. Got into w/ the only builder I did work for. After 10 yrs. it is over. Plus the A-Hole is threatening me w/ court over $500 and a repair we NEVER DID :S I consider it a Shakedown. Either I pay to make his customer happy or he finds another roofer. SO I guess I got to go..... B)
I might have come up with a riddle to calm the nerves and inject humor in the situation. "When is a door not a door" When it's ajar." Ha ha ha ha LOL ha ha ha B)  B) Deep Down In Florida Where The Sun Shines Damn Near Every Day
Hers is a OOps. Was loading a roof, i think we put a bit to many bundles on the dormer, cause i heard a women screaming.... I was wondering what He**, we had put so much weight on the dormer, that she could not leave, or open her bedroom door. Funny now, but not so much then
Ciak, no big surprise......your already on a pedestal. :silly: Now we have to deal with a 50 footer, yikes. PC

GKRFG.............bummer is right. I'm sure you are not the first, in fact I know. No stories. How does that go? You are on assignment, possibly injured, who is the responsible party? You or the homeowner? I'm asking, don't know. I'm sure Ciak will have a Vegas Story not related. I'm Catholic by birth, no surprise the the Catholics are rich in Vegas. I'm laughing. PC
Las Vegas Churches accept gambling chips THIS MAY COME AS A SURPRISE TO THOSE OF YOU NOT LIVING IN LAS VEGAS , BUT THERE ARE MORE CATHOLIC CHURCHES THAN CASINOS. NOT SURPRISINGLY, SOME WORSHIPERS AT SUNDAY SERVICES WILL GIVE CASINO CHIPS RATHER THAN CASH WHEN THE BASKET IS PASSED.
SINCE THEY GET CHIPS FROM MANY DIFFERENT CASINOS, THE CHURCHES HAVE DEVISED A METHOD TO COLLECT THE OFFERINGS..
THE CHURCHES SEND ALL THEIR COLLECTED CHIPS TO A NEARBY FRANCISCAN MONASTERY FOR SORTING AND THEN THE CHIPS ARE TAKEN TO THE CASINOS OF ORIGIN AND CASHED IN. THIS IS DONE BY THE CHIP MONKS. FISH FRIED BY THE FRYERS. B)  B) Deep Down In Florida Where The Sun Shines Damn Near Every Day
