Not inclined to help the idiot as he's not friendly toward us. Is it my obligation to get him on the 18' roof or can I just tell him to get himself up there?
It's not a fun roof to get on, for a nonroofer. Overhanging deck on all edges, metal salvage place so scary stuff to land on if you fall.
I know this department to be lazy, ignorant, and corrupt. I'm hoping he'll just approve the inspection if I don't help him get on the roof. They have done this many times before, approving the final inspection without getting out of the pickup. This department kind of has it in for us because I got them overrruled on their overly-broad interpretation of IBC 2015.
My understanding is that if it's your ladder and you set it up, the doors open to a lawsuit if something happens.
I always say "You can have that ladder" before somebody get's on mine. Am I joking or would it hold up in court?
