That is interesting. He needs to have the roof on before he can build and wattle the walls, even though the structure would be much more stable and able to handle the weight if the walls went up first.
But jungle rains would dissolve the walls. So all the tiles have to be made before you can start on the walls. The labor for that would take days.
There isn't enough overlap on the tiles for them to not have a sidelap system. You can see too much daylight through them.
