I have been here a few days now.Wow what a mess. Meandering through the neighborhoods that have been destroyed and listening to the victims stories. Awe, inspiration and feeling of this is the America attitude I remember growing up in. I'll be here a few more days. I have pics on my I phone. I don't know how to up load to RCS. Steve if you could instruct me I will try. B) :) :) B) Deep down In Florida Where The Sun Shines Damn Near Every Day
Ciak sent me some photos 2 weeks ago so I could upload them.
Sorry for the delay. Perhaps it's good to be reminded a few weeks later of the nightmare those people are still living
You're not making sure of the file name you want before uploading, or just getting impatient and clicking more than once. Give me a call if you want.
That's awesome Rockydog. Working this disaster and many, many more similar or not so. I have seen people come together and neighbors helping strangers strangers helping neighbors. The other side is the entitlement crowd. Most of my experience with Super Storm Sandy delt with this type. Most everyone affected by the storm most not severely just and inconvenience. The USA I grew up in is personified in the Oklahoma area. Inspiring gratitude young folks helping old, old helping young with polite and meaning full conversation. Awesome awesome I came away from this event changed with a new hope. B) :) :) B) Deep Down In Florida Where The Sun Shines Damn Near Every Day
My son, who is my partner, created a non-profit called American Disaster Relief Foundation about 15 months ago that I am one of the directors of. 2 years ago my son and a few friends went to Joplin, MO. to see where they could help out. After 2 weeks they returned and he seemed to be a different man and he wanted to help more so he created the non-profit. In a couple of days we have 6 people going to Oklahoma to aid them any way they can. The foundation is paying for them to go. If any of you can see it in your heart to join us in this endeavor we would be grateful. Donations can be sent to American Disaster Relief Foundation 7642 W. Vogel Ave #1 Peoria, AZ. 85345. If anyone would like to spend time in Oklahoma please let me know as we might be able to help you fund your stay.
Send me the pictures and I will post them. Sorry for the frustration.
Lets see if this works. I'm home at the moment. Nope what a pain

I'm glad you are there to help.

I've seen it too many times and have had several close calls myself.
I've lived from Central to North Alabama most of my life. Part of Tornado Alley.
These come to mind:
Lived in a mobile home park growing up. I was around 8 yrs. old. ( 1976 ) We left in the middle of the night and went to a neighbors under ground storm shelter. Upon returning over half of the mobile home park was gone.
Then around 1990 I was asleep in a motel room when an F5 tornado hit just 3 blocks south of the motel. It wiped out a very large shopping center complex leaving nothing but the pavement.
Yet again an F-5 hit very close by around 2003 and many people were killed.
And of course there was the April 27th 2011 F-5 that hit Tuscaloosa, AL and Birmingham, AL.
That was my daughters first year at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa. It hit just a few blocks south of the college where she was living on campus per freshman rules.
Then it came toward our house in Birmingham. Geez! Missed us both by a narrow margin.
