Happy March to you all. The weather is finally changing around here and it's time to get serious again. We've done some repair work over the winter but as far as full roofs it just hasn't been nice enough to make any money on them so why bother. No sense doing all of the work in bad weather and then sitting around waiting for more work to come in while it's nice out. I really enjoy winter because it's like being semi-retired and I have time for hobbles and time to entertain myself. I hear some people say that they retire and are bored but I can't imagine not enjoying all of the play time. Time to gear up for another 9 months of work. Hope everyone has a good year.
Thanks guys. Yeah Kevin the corner posts are cedar, treated to ground contact spec. My son had a bunch of them donated for his eagle scout project (15 years ago?!) and the last 4 of the extras went in to this. So it's kind of like timber framed. The siding trim is all cedar roof battens, the french door came out of a dumpster of an addition. The roof is M/L Madera.
That green house looks pretty sweet. I second the change of season!
Looks very nice. should be proud of that, is that cedar? if so damn nice. i always used cedar to replace rotten boards up against walls. Just so it does not happen again.
That's cute!
This was my Winter project. I noticed I had lots of glass around, so I built a greenhouse and cleared a garden area on the South side of my shop. I promised my wife it would be under less than $100. of materials not in stock, but it took $107.

But I've got seeds in the dirt and am ready to get back to roofing.
About 40 degrees here yesterday and sunny. More of the same for the rest of the week. About time. We still had to scrap some snow and ice, but it is melting and by the time the week is out, most everything will be gone. I am going to be able to take some good pictures of the house at the end of the week too. Been looking forward to that.
wish you guys all the luck!
Thanks GAK. I am thinkig the same here. We've done less than 20K in work since the 1st of the year. Spent a lot of time w/ the kids and family. Just took them swimming on Saturday (joined the YMCA) for their 1st lessons
Stayed 2 nights in Chicago and went to the Aquarium, Planeterium and Field Museum. Little Sammy got sick the 2nd night otherwise we'd a stayed a 3rd night. I'd HIGHLY Recommend the Best Western @ River North. It was like $79 a night!
Winter has gotten old, time to move forward. PRAC meeting om 3/17 and going the AirVent Seminar in Indy on the 19th. This kind of Stuff should be over with by now. Oh well.
Doing my 1st Homeshow this weekend. It has been somewhat absorbing of my time recently.
