Keep the word roofing out of your name....

Had ANOTHER insurance company drop me because I do roofing. trying to get more, 2 more companies wouldn't take me on because I have "roofing" in my name... my insurance agent said that the best thing I can do is not have the word roofing in my name........

They said there are ways to get around the act of roofing as a part of my work, but when its in your name, theres no getting around it.

so they finally did end up finding an insurance carrier to take me at a HUGE increase in my premiums.

not good.

MAYBE IF EVERY ONE CARRIES THE RIGHT INSURANCE THEY CAN BE IN THE REAL ROOFING WORLD AND NOT LOW BALLING JOBS

***UPDATE***

Insurance company will give my residential company insurance but not my commercial company....

neither has ever had a claim.

BUT, looks like a commercial policy will cover both commercial and my residential company.......at a much higher rate...

Does Obamacare have liability insurance coverage?

"Hi mr. Insurance agent, I am Sean from GSD roofing and I need Insurance"

"Really, for what?" sez Ins. agent. " How about painting, lawn mowing and hourglass repair? I can make you a heckuva deal!"

"Well" sez Sean " One must be licensed in Michigan to do roofing and I would like not only be legal, but not put my family, employees and personal property at risk"

"Property Shmoperty, Mr Sean! Licensing means nothing. What is this, your 18th birthday? I have hundreds of clients who do roofing without a nickles worth of viable insurance. How do you think they can do work so cheeeep?"

Sean thinks a bit and sez "Yes you and Mr. Hansen Roofing are true professionals who are much more successful than me. It has been proven and I am not worthy. What do you think about Exactimate........?"
