One of my favorite country singers and of course, highly under rated.
Raised in Apopka, Florida, Anderson's first musical influences were not country artists, but rock and roll musicians such as Jimi Hendrix and The Rolling Stones.[3] He played in a rock band until the age of 15, when he discovered the music of George Jones and Merle Haggard and turned to country music.[1] Anderson moved to Nashville, Tennessee, in 1971, arriving unannounced at his sister's home, and took on odd jobs during the day - including one as a roofer at the Grand Ole Opry House - while playing in clubs during the evenings.[4]
yay John Anderson
We are listening to the Old country station on cable right now and an Anderson song was just on. good stuff. I can't believe 30 and 40 years have passed since they were the "new" country
I did some work in Louisiana and in Florida around 1993. Those Cajuns and Floridians were crazy about ole John Anderson. That was 20 years ago and I was still a young buck that liked to visit the local taverns. They used to wear out that "Seminole Wind" song on the jukebox in both of those states. It does has a catchy tune to it.
And just "a swingin"
Roofing: THE odd job
Big brother went to college and became a doctor man I guess he makes about a million dollars a year off the folks on insurance plan He's got a big long Mercedes Benz and a house overlooking the town He sits in his Jacuzzi and he watches the sun go down And he feels real sorry for me I'm the black sheep of the family
Them's real lyrics.
