OK, so I just did my rare edpm job and have leftovers enough to try an old idea I've had about an inflatable rubber thing, (no it's not a doll). Has anyone ever done anything like this? Would the seams be done the same? Do edpm seams gain any strength or water/air tightness after curing for a length of time?

I forgot to mention the ends are just tied off like a balloon.

DO many flat roofs? One company I worked with had 20' lenghts of EPDM rolled into tubes about 3" in diameter. Glued, I assume instead of seam taped, unless the seam tape was cut into 1-1/2" wide strips. The tubes were filled with sand and taken to every flat roof project and used to dam and divert water, and overnight, or emergency tie-in to help seal the new and old roofs from leaking. Just drag them around to where you needed them and let them lay there and do the work for you. :)

You are going to spend a lot of time making something that won't work. Even positive air pressure inside a building is enough to blister EPDM tapes. I had a tectum deck grocery store that put 3" blisters over every fastener in the field of the roof.

I mean, maybe it's worth a try just for kicks & giggles, but if your putting any real pressure to it, it will come apart in time.
