This is one we did last week. It has the fake slate on it and the snow and ice was trashing everything last winter. Water in the basement this spring. We had to take the slate tiles off 7 rows up, install the half round gutters and downspouts then re-install everything with over 100 ice guards and insulation where needed while we had everything apart. It came out nice, and we fixed all of the problems in the house. Life is good!
They had to roof all apart and then installed the fake slates without taking care of everything else. We insulated and put on gutters and set scaffold all for the second time when they could have done it from the start.
How else did the customer get screwed, other than no ice guards?
I think this will be adequate. We had to take off the "slates" to get them on and this stuff is so slippery that the snow is going to slide anyway. the bottom will hold it until it melts. There is about 13 feet to the top from the last row. The owner really got screwed by the other roofer and we were trying to recover the fumble without redoing the whole roof. It is not leaking, but the water in the basement demanded the gutters and the ice guards will protect them.
John: I fixed it. The "H" was missing off of the "http" when you pasted in the address.
:)
Nice work. Why'd you only put them on the bottom? Since the 80's, I haven't allowed more than 6', vertically, between guards.
