We had our OSHA inspection and we finally got moving on the ice fence today. It should be about done on this side tomorrow. Kind of a bitch working from below in the insulation, but it is going. The good thing is that you don't have to look at me and I can still be working.
I got to get into the attic and study the set up for the ventilation system too. it should work like a charm when we are finished. We will be changing the air every 20 minutes in the whole attic. It should cut way down on the AC bills in the summer and cut most of the ice out in the winter.

Hey, it is starting to move now. It is a bitch inside the attic, but at least it wasn't too hot up here today. We should have some good pictures of the scaffold around the tower tomorrow. That is a tester too. Having fun now!!!

It also lets some fresh air into the attic Woody. We were able to hand some tools through as I needed them too. With the blown in insulation inside I am trying to not lose my tools. I did drop the socket for the drill and it took a bit to find it. There is a domed ceiling inside the building and so the atic curves and at the bottom it is actually very steep inside. I have about 4 feet of space right at the eave and it shortens up in a hury as it goes up. There are huge trusses on the inside too that hold everyting up and they are in your way as you try and crawl around too.
Tinner, I had my son go and get some longer bolts and I think that the ones he brough back might have been SS. The shorter ones I got originally were galvanized. At 4 bolts per tile they are holding. We used the larger drill to crank the metal tiles down and it pulled so hard it cracked the clay tiles below it. Oops!
That was a smart move to pull a plank all the way across above the fence. Give yourself a nice skylight to lighten up the attic and a pass-through for the guys outside.
Nice work. :) SS bolts? Planks will always make a better roof deck. Idiots these days think plywood or OSB is the answer and making attics unusable with the porcupine/cactus look with nails protruding everywhere. Just no substitute.
