Mechanically fastened Densdeck over existing BUR / with a Hydrostop full fabric fluid applied system in Tinners Red finish
We have done several metal roof renovations with this system and they are holding up well, The metal roof on the Alamo in TX. was done with this system also
They are doing good. I have not done one in probably 6 years. I just went to look at a metal roof on a office building. Since this post, I am going to use Hydrostop if I get the work.

Thanks Lefty, how are the ones you did holding up?

Nice work. Went and took their training years ago. Did a few small jobs. Never got anything going with it.
With a slight pitch and the right substrate, the fluid applied roofs are a great alternative to tearing off and redoing with another layer of single ply.

How long you been doing these? The foundation(basecoat) and polyester fabric are applied with a roof brush that come in 10" 6" and 4" sizes, the topcoats can be roller applied or sprayed, We have been doing them for 4 years now.
It looks good. a fully adhered single ply is a better system on a flat roof IMO.

I just thought it was coating system, like ConklinWe have not used Conklin but have installed alot of the Hydro-Stop Premium Coat System. It is an approved class 1 roof system FM 4470 approved. (I hope i am not sounding like spam again!). I have spent the last 30 years installing Hot and am a firm believer in the old tar and gravel system, and am always that last to jump on the band wagon when a "new and better system" comes along but so far I have no complaints with this one, thanks for the response guys
Twil, Conklin also has a system using full mesh embedded in the base coat with a top coat. If it looks like that roof with a decent pitch, it works very well. after the initial installation, you can just clean it every 10 or 15 years and apply another top coat. We just finished a flat roof on that big slate roof I am working on where we coated a 60 mil EPDM roof as soon as we were finished installing it. With that, you just clean it and rinse it then install a tack coat and a base coat. We will install the top coat the next time I go over there. It looks sweet and it wears like iron. ALL of those systems are weather dependent though so they are not for all locations.
In Michigan and Indiana for instance, there are probably only 70 to 80 days a year that you can safely install a sprayed applied roof. it is even worse for urethane, though a lot of that is applied. The hot dry southwest is the ideal place for all of them. JMHO
