I'm being asked to do an inspection and report for an insurance adjuster on a tile roof that was damaged by an incompetent trying to clean it. I anticipate the inspection to take about an hour and a half and the report to be one page. I'm thinking of charging about $350. I don't get involved with insurance matters much and wonder if this is too high, too low or about right.
I just did 11 buildings on 1 propertie got $150.00 each,was a nice afternoon
Thanks!! That was informative. It would seem I'm not charging enough. Thank you.
As I had stated years ago The insurance company's will be a major player in the revenues of this industry. Insurance company's have created more work than would be out there normally. B) :) :) B) Deep Down In Florida Where The Sun Shines Damn Near Every Day
We're seeing a lot of insurance companies demanding that their customers prove their roof is less than 7-12 years old. If it's older they make them replace the roof or do not re-sign them for coverage. We're charging $175 for these types of inspections but nine times out of ten we sell them a new roof and waive the inspection fee. These are good sources of leads because the carrier normally already knows the insured's roof does not comply.

I start at $365.00 and take pix of everything. If there's ever any dispute, the pix will tell the story. I don't include all the pix in the report as they are often redundant. But, you can't have too many if there's a dispute! Take 30-100- or more if necessary.
