Roofer Mike posted a pic on FB and it reminded me of something funny.
This reminded me of an incident while hot mopping. My two seniors were older and black. Jack was about 60, 6'3' and 230. Pat was about 35, 6' and 190. Me, 22, 5'9'', 170. It was a 98 degree day, very humid and pat kept nudging me, winking towards Jack and whispering heat didn't bother black people, then nodding at Jack who looked like he was about to give out. (He was mopping, I was throwing, Pat was sweeping.) I finally caught on and told Jack "I sure wish I was black!" "WHAT!!!!!!! Are you crazy?? You lose your xxx mind???" "Naw! Being black means the heat won't bother me! It'll be great and I can work all day without a break. The sun doesn't bother black people!" Good thing we had about 3,000 sq. of roof to play on. Jack was still chasing me around the roof with a mop handle! I was still teasing him, and Pat was so busy curled up laughing add crying because of it to even stand, nor could he talk when the Boss came up 30 minutes after I stated my teasing.
Oh gosh, I sure miss the good old days!
