What would be your take on hiring former contractors, and in some cases former competitors? Too much distrust, overqualified concerns, ?????????

To do what? In a lot of cases, they could be your best employees, because they have been there and understand just what needs to be done and why. They also know that you are not making money hand over fist and it all has a lot of different places it has to go. If you don't trust them, don't hire them!
